  2. I've got that listed as "Our Country Needs Love" John (but confusingly, the B side as you titled it)...Moodisc 7430 (thats a matrix, very few have catalogue numbers on the label) Pete
  3. Yeah I saw that, he had a reserve of 300 on it I think - reggae dealer from London
  4. I'd question these, especially the dates, and according to this there are 4 official releases of Rat Race from the 70's...you saying you agree with that? DO-DE-RE ? GINO WASHINGTON Like My Baby (Instrumental) / I'll Be Around (When You Want Me) (Instrumental) 197? DO-DE-RE ? GINO WASHINGTON Like My Baby / Like My Baby (Instrumental) 197? ATAC 2830 (hand written label) GINO WASHINGTON (We're In A) Rat Race / Oh Not Me 1975 WASHPAN 854 GINO WASHINGTON (We're In A) Rat Race / Oh Not Me 197? 5. Yeah it's fantastic - I mean, truly fantastic. I've got about 80, half of which I taped myself, but this one while not the greatest aurally, almost certainly has the best atmosphere. PM me and give me your address and I'll send it you on cd if you like Pete
  6. Obscure R&B artists Some good stuff there and also have a look at the discographies one if you get the chance, the Gino Washington 45 discography is mind-boggling and I would suggest that several of the items listed don't exist...also has anyone ever seen the Atac LP?
  7. Nice Maxine Brown issue there mate, not seen that before, only demos Pete

DEE EDWARDS - TOO CARELESS WITH MY LOVE - D-TOWN VG 10
  9. They have got to be promos, or signifying which side of the record to play - you find them on lots of that group of labels - ABC, TRC, Dunhill - at first I thought it was just someone's mark but I've had way too many of them now for it to be a coincidence. Maybe they ran out of white demos!
  10. Stemmons Express - Woman love thief....
  11. Trust me, that is overpriced for a Doctor Bird single, I had about 120 of the label before I sold them and the most I ever paid was £75 for The Paragons. I sold Glen Miller for £100 but it was Fair at best. Not saying that it isn't the going rate for it on the soul scene but if you're a reggae collector you just wouldn't pay anything like that. It must be super-rare on Stag though.
  12. Yeah it's I've Arrived but he sings "the fruit THATS on the vine" not BATS
  13. It gets a bit confusing because quite a few appeared over the years and there was even an LP with 10 tracks on, handwritten insert, just like a 'rock' bootleg.
  14. Actually I just checkd and it definitely credits The Originals on the acetate
  15. I was referring to the blank pressings mate. Some of the acetates do have artists names on, most don't, the Originals one doesn't. I had an awesome unissued Motown acetate, I think I sold it to Stuart Tyler, turns out it was by Hattie Littles, can't even remember what it was called now but that was just one sided and had the music publisher and title only. Also had the original acetate of the fast version of Midnight Johnny, again, title and publisher only. However those were publishers acetates, the actual studio acetates have a bit more info on them usually.
  16. Didn't those have US type centres though? Or is that what you mean.
  17. Happy - William Bell ??
  18. I've got it here - it's in Simon Soussan's price guide (thats a rarity in itself) master number CCMN-0979-NHDD whatever that means dated 4/22/66. I've had a few of these over the years and I've never had one with a different artist on the flip.
  19. Dodgy...what you reckon Suspicion
