You all take this music WAY to seriously. I used to think it was the b all and end all, but it's not. Your kids are. Full stop.

Sad that that symbol will be my only legacy when I move on... "so what did Pete bring to Soul Source?" "Well he gave us the wanker sign"

Y'see this is where my comments get taken wrongly, I do like the fast seventies 4-4 dancers that were played, I'm talking about the Cleethorpes stuff mainly and if there was a no 70's rule there'd be no mel britt, natural 4 or whatever, what I'm saying is YES I AM BLINKERED to non-Northern Soul Soul, if that makes sense...it does very little for me and I would rather listen to The Ramones than Garland Green. But like you say, horses for courses...

No I agree with you when you say good is good except I just don't like hearing non-60's soul at northern do's, simple as that, I would rather they started playing rocksteady and reggae, at least it has some soul content. Anyway no doubt people would hate my taste in music (Punk, 60's garage, reggae, late 70's early 80's new wave stuff, scott walker etc)

What do you mean I love white soul, I used to collect British which means you have to buy a lot of white cover versions...yes I like Joanie Somers and Chapter Five, Dean Parrish, Barry St John, Shane Martin, a few more, but thats about 1% of the soul records I like. I don't class 70's/80's disco whatever it is as northern soul thats all.

Records like this and it's ilk totally ruined the northern scene for me and hundreds of other people. And still continue to do so.
  14. I'll be ready!
  15. I didn't think most of them would get 'wench'
  16. Actually thats not my dog, well it is, I do have that type of dog but couldn't find her pic so I used that one. She chases cats outdoors bit is frightened of them indoors!
  17. Yeah he'd have to get a lady to do his dirty work for him he's running scared, hence no reply p.s. my dog will protect me, see below
  18. I know what it means, that wasn't what I was asking, I was asking why it is important that it is legit and who is it important to...and what do you care seeing as you sell hundreds of bootlegs at the record fairs
  19. Sent you a PM Mick
  20. Just wondered who it was important to that it was legit and why?
  21. More important to who????

These are fantastic. I hate that Bettye Swann record but you didn't mean me anyway did you. Chapter Five - f*cking brilliant
  23. Not saying I definitely was, but I 'probably' was the first person to get offered these, back in 1999, he wanted 300 dollars each for them then, Tim Ash had already got some I think but not from the band, the guy had 40 or 50 copies to sell but I couldn't convince him that the record wasn't in demand...

Yes, it was noted (scratches chin in suspicion that Mick is paying Kolla to keep her sweet)
  25. I think Mick'll tell you it was Maizy Doats and Dozy Doats on Kama Sutra...Levine refers to this during his fantastic SWONS documentary
