  1. This is very fast but a tremendous group track
  2. Yeah the one I had was a white demo on a label called Mas-Tok, little Detroit label. Sold it to Manship for 200 quid about 3 years ago, books at 500 now. Title is Don't Leave Me.
  3. Might as well bung a few more up while I've got them saved on the pc...enjoy folks
  4. Anyone who doesn't like this must be the victim of a cruel medical experiment
  5. so you didn't like the Shirley Matthews track...here's some that you surely must like
  6. Yes, you're an ugly bastard
  7. I dunno, I haven't heard any, it was actually a serious question!
  8. I don't even know if it was released Wendy, I like the early Wailers pre-68, and have most of their stuff, this was on a cd of Peter Tosh lead vocal numbers and I think it's unreleased. You are almost spot on about the Kinks though. "Peter liked the sound of the small rock & roll bands who spearheaded the British invasion of the mid-60's" Can't You See, with it's straight ahead drum beat, reminds the ear of Charlie Watts and the Rolling Stones" (sleeve note)
  9. What the hell is deepfunk??? :secret:
  10. I'd love to hear this sort of stuff played. Much better than awful records like 'Clock thats got no hands' You're right about the Fire records, last one 1962, looks like he made a comeback in 1969 on White Whale!
  11. I can't find it any discography to be honest but I'm pretty sure it pre-dates his releases on the Fire label.
  12. Think I should query this postage charge??? 4058502016 Northern Soul Harry Caldwell on Carnival Records 1 US $20.50 US $20.50 Shipping and handling via USPS Airmail Parcel Post: (includes any seller handling fees) US $17.85
  13. I bought an acetate of it off Ebay last year but it was crap so I sold it 2 days later...
  14. Never seen one of these before..
  15. Thats an interesting reply actually because the same has been happening to me, though with me I've been listening to a type of music I never thought I'd get into - blues. It's only a specific type of blues though, I think it's like early 50's rock'n'roll like Rocket 88, Jimmy Reed, 'Combination Boogie', sort of hard driving uptempo blues. Some guy made his entire R&B collection available via the bit torrent network so I downloaded it and there are several hundred tracks, ranging from early rock n roll, New orleans, Sax players, Girl vocals, Doo wop and so on...a real voyage of discovery for me. Avaialble on a bootleg mp3 disc from me very shortly
  16. What's thast you say, buy myself a drink with the change, nice one
  17. Serious this time. Is Al Kent Ooh Pretty Lady on a ric tic demo worth any more than the £3 issue? Anyone know how much I should ask for You're Too Much A Part Of Me by Patti Austin on Coral demo? Seen a ridiculous price in one of the guides (£300!) I thought it was like 100-125?
  18. Just wondered if anyone had ever heard of or knows the value of a record called Lady In Green by The Magnetics on Bonnie Records? I won it on Ebay out of the World Music section for $3 but I have a feeling it may be worth more. It's a white demo as well....I think it may be ' Northern Soul'. Thanks in advance.
  19. ...which I put up on Thursday? Just wondered what you thought of it fitting into the sort of early 60's r&b scene, I thought it was pretty good and definitely danceable. It's on a label called Gwenn, never seen it before.
  20. Thanks mate, I don't remember that at all. Saved me a couple of bob, ta.
  21. Bloke is advertising this as a reissue but I don't remember it being pressed..
  22. Yeah it'll go straight out at 75 quid I suppose....always mean to keep it but never do
