  1. Discovered this many many years ago on the first Phil Spector box set - what a production and what an amazing vocal performance. Probably way too fast for NS consumption but brilliant anyway.
  2. Yeah it an unreleased version. The best one has got to be Sam Williams, but off the Grapevine 45 - as far as I know, it's the only time it's ever appeared in it's entirety, it's 30 seconds longer than the 45 or any compilation appearance. The B side is a great version of You Don't Mean It by Towanda/Gloria Barnes, which was also recorded by...Ohio Players
  3. Thanks for the comments mate. It is the artistics that you want. The first time on CD the cream of Northern Soul from one of the greatest SOUL labels of all time. Compiled by leading DJ Kev Roberts, the 26 tracker contains first time on CD titles The Visitors- I'm in Danger, Johnny Howard - The Chase Is On plus hugely in demand Jackie Wilson titles My Heart Is Calling and Because of You. Stompers from The Demures, Adams Apples to the sublime Jackie Ross and Leroy Taylor make this a 'must buy' collection. Mastered from the original tapes, the selection is one of the best listens you are ever likely to encounter Northern Soul wise. Glorious full colour packaging with archive sleeve notes. You will also find exclusively Jackie Wilson's - The Who Who Song which is from the latest KFC TV AD. 1- HOPE WE HAVE - THE ARTISTICS / 2- OH LINDA - LEROY TAYLOR] / 3- THE WHO WHO SONG - JACKIE WILSON / 4- GIRL, I NEED YOU - THE ARTISTICS / 5- HAVE MORE TIME - MARVIN SMITH / 6- SHING A LING - THE COOPERETTES / 7- BET YOU NEVER THOUGHT - GENE CHANDLER / 8- SWEET DARLING - BILLY BUTLER / 9- KEEP YOUR CHIN UP - JACKIE ROSS / 10- THERE WAS A TIME - GENE CHANDLER / 11- DON'T TAKE IT OUT ON THIS WORLD - ADAMS APPLES / 12- MY HEART IS CALLING - JACKIE WILSON / 13- PURPLE HAZE - JOHNNY JONES / 14- CALIFORNIA MONTAGE - YOUNG HOLT LIMITED / 15- SWEETEST THING - CHANNEL 3 / 16- I'M IN DANGER - THE VISITORS / 17- THE CHASE IS ON - JOHNNY HOWARD / 18- FROM THE TEACHER TO THE PREACHER - GENE CHANDLER AND BARBARA ACKLIN / 19- I'M SO GLAD - HERB JOHNSON / 20- I'M A LOVER - CHUCK CARTER / 21- BABY BOY - FRED HUGHES / 22- BECAUSE OF YOU - JACKIE WILSON / 23- WRONG NUMBER - LEE CHARLES / 24- RAINING TEARDROPS - THE DEMURES / 25- THIS LOVE IS REAL - THE PROMISES / 26- YOU GOT ME WALKING - JACKIE WILSON 10.99 from here
  4. No it's not mine, it's an acetate that a friend of mine bought off Pat Brady about 12 years ago, he's still got it and won't sell it. Think he paid about 100 quid for it!
  5. It's dead easy to make instrumentals, you just need a stereo version of a track and a karaoke program which you can download off the net. Maybe 1 in 10 will work completely, but most of them, you can hear the vocal in the background.
  6. I've only had purple and silver mate so that might be a rare one anyway...they've always been styrene
  7. Why, were you gonna send me an obscene message
  8. Alright, ten quid then, no more though. If I've got one you can have it for ten quid.
  9. Hardly worth it is it Steve, it's only worth £3 anyway But as far as I know - never booted
  10. There is, but it's a Simon Soussan special, he did it himself..
  11. Don't know who this is but it's fantastic, when the beat kicks in, awesome.
  12. The one record I've always wanted to hear as an instrumental is I'll Always Need You by Dean Courtney. They've got a full orchestra in there, and with that beat on top, it would be the best ever...after Bari Track, Exus Trek, Frantic Escape and Cigarette Ashes...
  13. Not as good as Sam Williams...don't think it's on a cd though
  14. Well not quite, it so nearly worked but I just couldn't get rid of all the vocal - not that it needs getting rid of - but this track had a great string section and I thought it would sound nice as an inst, so I had a bash at it
  15. Justin Timberlake vs Ini Kamoze. Not bangin but pretty cool
  16. Totally disagree. Put two separate things together to make a new entity - I wish I was clever enough to be able to do it. Plus they go together really well.
  17. This is Paul Simon with an acapella version of Is She Really Going Out With Him and presumably a Bill Withers sample, this is the best of the lot and I promise I won't do any more unless asked to. Better find some northern now I suppose
  18. Tell her she rules mate
  19. This is great but I don't know what the vocal track is.
  20. Please define bangin and I'll see what I can find...I've got about 150 of these bootleg mixes on the pc
  21. Actually this is not that hilarious, the first 20 seconds are though
  22. It was the only other 'soul' related one I've got...
  23. Wendy I'll keep posting them til I'm told to stop, please check out the next one, Rebel Without A Banjo, it's top stuff. I've also got one of the Muppets theme mixed in with that rock track Gay Bar which is a scream but I'll spare you that
  24. Rebel without a banjo...Public Enemy vs Deliverance. This is hilarious, honest, well it is if you like Public Enemy and Deliverance. Hey theres not much going on and some of these are very clever!
