  1. Thought this might be a laugh. I've fished out a few tracks which I can honestly say I have never heard played at a venue since the days they were 'big', some going back to 1975! So I thought it would be interested to see if anyone remembered them, and if anyone is hearing some for the first time, what their opinions are. They are all out of my own collection (shock, the first 5 are 70's) except the last one which is just my idea of a little joke Okay here is no.1
  2. I'll do some more rare stuff later, I wanted to do a few totally forgotten oldie type things first...see if anyone remembers them
  3. I can honestly say this is the only one I've seen - or heard of. Mick said he knew someone who said they'd had one. Unbelievably I got this off Ebay, I don't think anyone bothered asking if it was an issue or demo except me, so I walked it at about $250
  4. I played this down the phone to Mick Smith just now and he said it's the worst record I've ever played him
  5. I think that is the whole thing, I certainly didn't edit it, should be about 4 minutes long? If not I will post again
  6. The holy grail of MGM issues...
  7. This is what it links to Mike
  8. It goes to my profile page...but then what? Can't see any clips??
  9. Oi! Pack that in! No, it's only 4 miles away from me but the seller is actually Mick Holdsworth.
  10. Cheers mate, but I just got this one converted and put onto vinyl for my own consumption never gonna find the original 45...
  11. Good argument , they're jazz musicians I'd have said maybe 10%, your Billy Eckstines, Barbara McNairs things but most of their output?
  12. Yeah, Cigarette Ashes. It's even better than the vocal IMO.
  13. Right. So with the vocals taken off, none of the Funk Brothers recordings are soul. Could have fooled me...
  14. It certainly is very much like the Del Royals - pretty sure it's different though
  15. No it's from "Three Nil In The Play Off Final", you may have heard of it...
  16. Better stop posting these tracks up now, this is a brilliant beat ballad/ender from an unlikely source, well worth downloading though
  17. Well Stumble & fall has been played in the past, trouble is it got reissued on warner-spector 45 so that probably killed it. Do I Love You is fantastic but too common sadly. There's some great Spector soundalikes been played though...Hang On by The Wall Of Sound for a start.
  18. I'd say it was up to about £800 nowadays - unusual cos there's not that many rare records on that label (Tru Glo Town). I've never heard it played out anywhere!
  19. Still sounds great!
  20. Ward Burton
  21. Maybe a bit too rare so not that many people know it... royal robbins - something about you that sends me
