  6. Searling used to play an extended version of Eddie Holman pre release but I'm sure it was off a 10" acetate..I never saw a 12". Flaming Emeralds was 7" only. I remember hearing the Idris Muhammad record but it wasn't at Wigan.
  7. You might have missed it because they often used to play the other side. Having said that, it's not an 'old' oldie, don't think I heard it til the mid 80's myself
  8. Chip Tyler is a totally different record - I know this because I actually asked Jerry Williams if it was a real person and he said it was...this was on KTF must be 6 or 7 years ago, Jerry used to be on there all the time, still pops up now and again
  9. Ones I can distinctly remember being played at Wigan were Miroslav Vitous - new york city Salsoul Orchestra - Salsoul 2001 (reckoned to be the first 12 ever played there) Anthony White - Block party CAR WASH!!! several things were played off longer, extended LP tracks, things like Game Players.
  10. Definitely played - still have it on a Wigan tape circa July 76
  11. Yeah that's a bootleg mate
  12. It's definitely Marvellous Ray. Magic record. All of them seem to have a 'chips' gold sticker on them which is impossible to move. I got 2 copies off Times Square when I first got on the net in 96-97 and I haven't seen one since, I'd say about £150 for that now. This came out on the Goldmine cd Thelma Story credited to 'Pat Smith', there was an instrumental version on there as well. Who knows how it ended up as Marvellous Ray?
  13. Why would anyone want the B side of that? It's not deep or anything, just another dance record. Couple of years ago I put Matt Lucas in as a search and found his fan club - so I sent them an email asking about Go Go and said I'd like to buy a copy if anyone could find it, I got a reply from the head of the fan club who was in fact...Matt Lucas. Anyway he only had one copy, that was his own, but he sold it me anyway! I gave him $500 for it. Silly sod autographed it on the label instead of the sleeve but I sold it for, I think, £700. Shame, I'd liked to have kept that, one of my favourite oldies.
  14. Hang on, let's cut to the chase here...what IS this record worth - I got it in a collection about 4 years ago and Ian Levine almost begged me to sell it to him...think I charged him £50 as I thought it was a) unknown and a load of rubbish

  16. It was on my website and then he used it on Anorak Records site
  17. My lawyers are examining this post for libelous content
  18. It is, but thats a tailor made vocal from 75
  19. That was around way before Soussan got the Mirwood tapes...first played off the B & C album then released on Jayboy 1970-71 ???
  20. That is actually my old copy. The tiny tears are where I was trying to get some mould off the label and I rubbed too hard!
  21. I'm going to print this out and frame it
  22. This is one of my old UK discoveries as first reviewed in Beatin Rhythm circa 1992. I found it in Vinyl Demand in Brighton when they got those thousands of unplayed demos from a British airbase in Germany. Four or five people went in before me and took all the well known stuff but it was from the remainder that things like Truly Smith, Robert Henry, loads of em, were discovered. Emma Rede is actually Jackie Lee who sang Rupert The Bear.
  23. You've got a good memory mate, though I actually did two hours cos someone didn't turn up, yes I had a stack of originals back then but obviously I sold them all - Stuart T had Monique, no idea who had Masqueraders...was about 4 years back that wasn't it?
  24. I uploaded that one about a month back in a bunch of 'forgotten' sounds...sadly I sold mine...if I had one now I'd want about £175 for it despite it being under £100 in Tim Browns book, it is rare (nb I think it's still up on the site somewhere in audio format)
