Death Row Pikeys
-
Pete Smith smiled to himself as he admired his new dressing gown in the mirror....'this'll have the ladies gagging for it' he thought out loud
-
The drugs are in the pocket of the dressing gown
-
Not only is it a death row, it's a womens only prison. I just rang them up, no reply
-
Hey it gets better - the state correctional facility at Muncy, where this should have gone, is a death row unit!
-
Well the cnut who sent it me obviously had a lobotomy!
-
On closer inspection it turns out that the 'monitor' is actually a tv! I'm going to send you all a picture of me wearing the gown and slippers, pointing at the tv

Firstly regarding d.j. line up. Sadly Nige Brown can't make it, so i'm going to take his place, also Tommy will be over from L.A & he said he'd do a spot for us. I was hoping we would have another female d.j. put there name forward, but unfortunately this hasn't happened, so hence Tommy's stepping in. So the d.j. line up is: Alex Jones Jodie Rob Messer Tony Parker Graham & Andy (Hitchin Soul Club) Ady & Tommy Potts. Secondly regarding the sound system. A number of people (including my self) have commented on how the sound quality has deteriorated. So i've taken this point up with the venue owner & he's put me in touch with the 'sound guy'. The result of that is, he's spending all this week revamping the full sound system in the entire premises. So it should sound good on the night! Thirdly, the toilets. After hearing, on Soul Source, that the toilets were in a bad state, i've taken this up with the management. They have informed me that this is going to be looked into, & rectified. Also, are you Ladies aware there are toilets at the top of the stairs as well. So there you have it. We look forward to seeing you on the night. Regards, Ady.

The slippers are dark brown and they match the dressing gown!

Anyone beat this? Won a pile of 250 singles on december 12th. Seller said they'd pay postage, I told them it would be expensive but they said it was ok. When they find out how much postage is, they ask me to pay $50 towards it, so I did, and then they sent them - by surface mail. Anyway, package finally turned up today, I eagerly opened it to be confronted by some kind of computer monitor, a crappy old dressing gown and a pair of fluffy slippers. Underneat the address label was the real addressees details - care of a correctional facility in New York state. Anybody want to buy a pair of slippers??? (the records are lost forever, obviously)
-
Interesting! Trouble is, most people know that the Virgil Henry has been found in substantial quantity - off the top of my head I'd have said about £175-£200 now
-
Is it the one on Hi label, Manship keeps listing it for £40 or so, so I found a few and got stuck with them even when reduced to a tenner? Just my luck...thought it was a good record actually

THE CAUTIONS - NO OTHER WAY - SHRINE 115 EXCELLENT CONDITION PRICE GUIDE VALUE £1500 THIS COPY FOR SALE TO FIRST OFFER OF £1000 CHEERS PETE 01902 893569 pete.smith@freeuk.com

Will, no offence like but if you've got all these records, surely you must have 'some' idea of their value if you actually bought them in the first place. Why anyone would pay £90 for a Goldmine cd is beyond me by the way. Your RK single is worth about £2, Magic Night £10 tops, never heard of the Gloria Scott record. Best way to price records is to get other peoples lists and see whats occuring there. Tim Brown's price guide is very good though.
-
Well it was manufactured there! Suppose a few could have slipped out.
-
From that original pressing (late 1976) done at Monarch, I am 99.9% certain that there are none on vinyl, every one is styrene...I've also never seen a later press on vinyl. But obviously, when you get it you'll be able to date it from the delta number and the original probably never had one in the first place
-
She lied, she sold her copies to Rob Thomas!

Ecclescake p.s. never seen a plain Atco, you must have a one off there mate, it's worth a grand
-
No, but the person I know does and is going to go see him next week, get him scampering up his attic
-
Didn't take a genius to work that out, the voices sound the same and both sides of the Tie record were co composed by Hendley anyway he isn't in a mental hospital
-
The Sunlovers are the same group as The Inspirations on Breakthru. Johnny Hendley was in the band. They were in touch with me recently, subsequently Kev has interviewed lead singer 'Charles Diamond'. But sorry, never heard of the record on Revue.
-
Yeah of course you can use it, it should be good enough - maybe 8 out of 10, no break ups or anything
-
I'd buy the lot but the problem is, there's records you have on there for 10 which I only sell for 5, it's impossible to make offers on records like that cos if I only sell for 5, that means I only pay 2/3 therefore you lose 7 straight off! Joe Simon I'd sell for 10 - you lose 25! Mary Wells 8-10 and so on. It's so hard selling 'cheapies' nowadays, everybody seems to want classic oldies, £30 and upwards...so when you have loads of records which, no offence meant, are going to take a while to move, the best bet as a seller is to buy more expensive titles which you know you'll get your money back on almost instantly. Sorry if this all sounds a load of rubbish, was just trying to explain why it's difficult to make an offer on these without it sounding like an insulting one.
