I did say right from the start that I was just messing about so to re-iterate that point, I am just messing about
there's not suddenly going to be loads of versions of old tracks circulating, well if there is they will have come off this site because that's the only place I've sent them to.
I jsut thought, if it puts a new slant onto an old tune then it's not hurting anyone, I'm not making any money off it and did I mention I was just messing about?
A record is a record - a cd is a cd - there's no comparison....even one of those horrible 70's and 80's style plastic injection-moulded label 45's is better than a cd, aesthetically I mean
Er..it's me...I just speeded the vocals up on the original and left the backing track the correct speed...I'm tatting about on a new pc program I got...still trying to make a woman sound like a man, I got Gladys Knight to sound just like Levi Stubbs but the backing singers sounded like they were singing at 33rpm
This is doing my head in. I make the mp3, I convert to ra, then try to send that up, says not acceptable, so change the name to .rm, says that is not acceptable, so change it to wav, and so on...
Any way of expanding on that idea do you think.
Like if we had say 3 or 4 hours I wouldn't expect everyone to put up with my stuff all that time, it wouldn't be like that!
Well I was hoping to have a kind of chill out saturday, thats why I mentioned about having a little space to play some rocksteady stuff, I can bring some decks and an amp and that but the chalet I'm in is metered so that probably wouldn't be the best idea.
Basically what it is, it's the original version by Bobby Treetop, I speeded the vocal up but kept the backing track at the same speed as the oriignal...this can bring about some really interesting results, if nobody minds I'll send a few up, this isn't a serious attempt to make new versions or anything it's just a laugh....done a nice midtempo version of Rita & The Tiaras, a slowed down version of She Tried To Kiss Me and a few more
