except nowadays when you can cut your own records for a few quid, it doesn't matter anymore, at least you can get a record to play indoors (or out)
But the astonishing thing about all this is that someone would actually pay more than £10 for this pile of shite. The absolute pits. Makes Wombat sound like a soul classic.
1) he can't sing in tune 2) the instruments are out of tune 3) it's f*cking awful
I don't know if the material is drying up but the new 50 track cd Golden Age Of NS vol 2 has at 33 tracks that have already appeared on cd.
What's the strategy behind this?
David Balfe?? Surely not of "Teardrop Explodes" fame, he must have only been about 12 years old then!
As for where they hear it - same as over here I guess, acetates sent from songwriters to publishing companies and then given to management for their clients.
I might be a day out either side mate, that was some weekend for me cos on the friday I "did it with a lady" for the first time and the next night I went to Wigan for the first time...I was a bit pleased with myself
Off the top of my head, I think the writers were Mason/Reed, I noticed this first time I ever saw the Ted Wilson label, therefore the Jason Cord is the original as these two were major purveyors of 60's UK pop.
Careful with this one though, there's also a brilliant lookalike vinyl boot which is very rare, would pass off as an original except (like the monarch press) it has p.b. in the run off
A few days maybe. The only DJ I ever heard play it was John Manship (of all people)
p.s. in 1972-73 I was 12-13 so couldn't get to many venues unless I saved my dinner money
No, I thought it would be funny to say "there's no such record" for no reason at all.
In fact I laughed out loud when I read it back.
Little things please little minds
Kev, I don't know if this is true but I was told by someone who'd met him that Mr Wiggles was the black equivalent of a redneck and he detested white people!
