Those Funny Northern Soul Tracks
The Carstairs makes the Four Vandals sound like a classic

OK. I really don't like it. I think I am prejudiced against it for what it stands for as well but I do honestly think it is a poor record with no redeeming features. Like George Lemons and Larry Houston.

That's better than The Carstairs.

Mick Smith told me to tell you he thinks it's rubbish as well...

I'm not joking - it's all down to personal preferences and I hate that record, the vocal is horrible.. it's just unlistenable. Just cos you bought it in 1973 on a pressing, which those pink ones are, doesn't mean I have to like it does it? I bought In Orbit in 1973 but I don't like it now...

I should leave the 'decent nick' bit out if I were you I think I've got Derrick Harriott - I haven't got Owen Gray anymore but that's not a hard one to find. Very early that, 1960 recording...- Last Call On The Soul Dvd's
No, I'll still do them, no problem, I just wanted to get away from them for a bit because they were taking so long to do, but I'll never turn down an order I'll PM you with the complete list, there's a new one, "DANCERS" which I don't think I listed on here- Excellent Soul Book Available
Well I bought the book off him buy it now, told him it'd be about a week til I had money in paypal, then after about a week he left me negative saying I'd promised money and never paid. So me being me, Iinstead of asking him why, I just sent him some abuse and left him negative feedback in return. He then writes and apologises saying it was meant for someone else and he'd sent my book anyway - which he had, it arrived the day after that. So it was a misunderstanding but not really my fault...for a change- Connie Clark
I told him I'd sell him a black label one for £6- Connie Clark
I told that bloke his black Connie Clark was a bootleg - apparently it isn't, and it'e worth loads of money here's his reply...be nice if someone else could drop him a line because he obviously thinks I know fcuk all >From: "mclark256@earthlink.net" >Reply-To: "mclark256@earthlink.net" >To: petesmithrecords@hotmail.com >Subject: Re: Question for eBay item #4724996142 - CONNIE CLARK~RARE DETROIT NORTHERN SOUL~FRANK WILSON >Date: Wed, 4 May 2005 08:58:27 -0400 (GMT-04:00) > >I think everybody has the year wrong on the yellow label that has written, Yellow label with Soul Galore on label is from the 80's not from the 70's. I believe only you have suggested that the yellow label is from the 70's. The Black and Silver label is hard to find nowadays. There is one on Gemm for $462.00 the more current press on Yellow label is on Gemm for $44.00. I would imagine a 1st press would fetch upwards of 600-800 pounds ($1,100-$1,500 US)- Wigan Play......reviews & Opinions
Is Brett the Al Murray of the northern soul scene- Wigan Play......reviews & Opinions
It hasn't played anywhere near enough to me to see it except Birmingham and I don't go to that dump out of principle anyway you know I don't like going out - Ktf Website
It's playing silly buggers, I attached the file but it's not sent it up, Dave do you want me to email it to you?- Ktf Website
OK here's the Fidels. This sounds to me like it's off the DJM reissue from 1977 as it's quite a dull mix compared to the original and the one that came out on Jayboy. I remember this was the record I'd paid most money for ever in 1975 - £1.50!- Ktf Website
Yeah ok mate I'll sort that out for you- Wigan Play......reviews & Opinions
Paul, how come this has never been filmed for a DVD release, I'd love to see the show- Favour Required
Why on earth would anyone auction Sam & Bill - it's only worth £15-£20 on US Decca and maybe double that on UK Brunswick.- Connie Clark
What am I looking at Steve, I searched on connie clark but just found one seller, 'grease nipple records' of walsall bootleg, 99p- Ktf Website
OK it's a ram file - I can convert ram to mp3 or whatever but I don't think I can convert ram to ra, someone will know how to though- Ktf Website
I thought the soul club stuff was already rm's Ian - if not, what are they, any idea?- Ktf Website
I'll send you some audio progs if you want - ra to mp3, mp3 to wav, editing stuff etc (or tell you where to get them) - Wanted Owen Gray Derrick Harriott
