  8. 1) I once got this on a list for like $20, listed as the other side - guess what, it was a double sided demo of the wrong side (I never bought it) 2) Don't forget there's a real record called My baby by the Fabulous Impac(t)s on Bomb
  9. I've a copy of that Johnny Davis coming up if anyone's interested. Was going to be £25 but now that it's obviously going massive, it's £100
  10. Right well I've got a boot in my own collection (which I thought was original!) and it looks like this: the label is a perfect repro, the run off details as follows: UK 4M 1257 which is scratched it - the original should have it stamped in
  11. Do what you like mate. I've got a book somewhere where I started writing down track lists but no bloomin' scanner to transfer them
  12. Yes it was, and it's one of the best lookalikes you'll ever see. I can't tell the difference!
  13. This is brilliant...if I hadn't already got it I'd have had it. I sell it for £20.
  14. Mike I think there are a few tape track listings up on my website (www.raresoul.co.uk) mainly Wigan, one from the Cats, two from Stafford...I think!
  15. How about it contains one of the worst vocal performances of all time, out of tune backing, dreadful lyrics and it's f*cking awful? Oh, but it's black, that makes it good then!
  16. Have you heard them together Chalky - I can't believe the difference
  17. Yeah I'll try and do some clips, trouble is, have to make it onto cd first and not sure if I've got any of those 'audio' blank cd's, if I have I'll do it though. It will be for sale, definitely, condition is visually about vg+ plays ex. Labels fine.
  18. First person I heard play Black Power was Keith Minshull. That was the first Wigan spin. Terrible Tom - surely not!!
  19. Everyone except me, you, Janine and Ady C
  20. I'm sure Chalky mentioned that there were two different matrix numbers for Ruby on Gold Token - well I just got one with the matrix x-4353 and to be honest it's blown my mind. Having heard this on 3 or 4 originals on Gold Token, off the inferior Take 6 release, off the bootleg and also the CD - couldn't believe my ears when I heard this one. Feminine Ingenuity has a completely different string arrangement and way heavier bass, and sounds like a different vocal. Deceived is a completely different vocal, and much better, sold backing - and again, with different strings. No books seem to price this any differently to the other version but it must be rarer - I didn't even know it existed. p.s. I went to pick up over 100 goodies today - Deadbeats, L Allen, an almost complete Thelma collection, Soulmasters, Debonairs, Carol Frederick, Daisy Burris, Seven Souls, blimey it's been a long time since I've seen records like this. Will start listing them early next week.
  21. It is that but it sounds like it's been taken off a stereo album, and the one track (with the backing vocals and more instruments) has been left off. Listen closely and you can hear distant backing vocals. Just call me Sherlock Holmes
  22. It's got a great intro though ...
  23. Karen this link will take you to the start of loads of versions of the sleeve, haven't had time to look though Some Girls Sleeves
