Hey come on Ste, this is meant to be 60's only
anyway you can't have Dinah Lee, she was Australian and the only Jamaican connection is that Aladdin was owned by Island.
Not sure how I managed to forget Ken Boothe as I actually posted it up here 2 weeks ago
Rach I never heard that mentioned or played by any Northern dj's - first time I heard it was at a mod do I somehow found myself at in Hastings...same with Ted Taylor.
Have a listen to this; it's Bitty McLean doing a version of Walk Away From Love but using the original backing track from Alton Ellis's "Rock Steady" and it's absolutely brilliant. I wasn't expecting a lot when I heard about this album (Bitty McLean Down On Bond Street) but when I found out they'd used 100% original 60's backing tracks I bought it and got a really pleasant suprise. It was voted best reggae album of last year.
PLEASE, GIVE IT A TRY!
I had that a couple of times and sold it. It's one of the very first releases on Trojan, the original orange label with the crown logo. The other side is soul as well, that's why I didn't keep it, I was expecting top rocksteady

I'm trying to find the 60's version of Night Owl, I don't know who it's by though, the one I've got is the same song but it's from about 1970 (by The Clarendonians).
There's a version of Call On Me by Jimmy Cliff on Fontana, is that it?
