  1. Rich to be honest, it's taken me so long to get that shrunk into a manageable size and then split it, I didn't take any notice of where it actually ended! Did you see episode one by the way? I just intend this to be the visual equivalent of picking up a fanzine to read about records. Everyone loves looking at records, I could just look at pages and pages of them.
  2. Maybe you had to have been into the rave scene to enjoy that film then cos I thought it was utter rubbish, and I really like most things John Simm is in. Or maybe it's because the music is so terrible?
  3. I think the first time I saw this name was on The Pointer Sisters - Send Him Back. Of course, loads more since. RIP Wardell.
  4. From the article Lou and Rod Bumgardner that's a great surname but surely an A is missing?
  5. Fortune Teller I think is one of the greatest records of all time, in any genre. One of the very few UK records I kept and still have. "This is for you my love" is nearly as good.
  6. It's a bit odd that the Freedie Gorman "Miracle" single hasn't been found seeing as I've got a copy here...plus he had at least two other solo releases for Ric Tic so hardly his only solo effort.
  7. Swoz, think about it, it's dead easy to get loads of signatures. Just ask me, or anyone else who does a mail out, to put a link to this thread or straight to the petition. I can't think of anyone who would charge for doing it, I'd be happy to do it.
  8. No, the petition is a fine thing to do for a great singer, just can't see why people have to tell us all that they've signed it that's all. p.s. done
  9. Just a thought, are we now going to get 500 replies all saying just one word "done"?
  10. The only thing I can find to complain about here is the fact that they especially want people who can do the 'acrobatic style' dancing. You know, the sort that went out in 1977 and only show offs and camera bandits have done for the last three decades...

  12. I was only reading this thread at the weekend, odd that you should stumble across it too, certainly made me sit and contemplate for a while, still a much missed guy.
  13. Cheers Ian. Sorry, didn't mean it anyway, I just couldn't hold it back. Good luck with the CD.
  14. As a 'music aficionado', I am eagerly anticipating having my next sh*t more than I am anticipating this CD.
  15. This record never dates, it never fails to move me, it always sounds as brilliant as the first time I ever heard it and as far as I'm concerned, it's one of the top 5 Northern Soul records ever made, a truly unbelievable track.
  16. They only advertised it for the first time on Monday, it's not out for ages.

  19. There's two or three already out there mate - Goldmine put out one particularly brilliant selection
  20. A genius. RIP Richard.
  21. It is a good point though, and I point I made when it came out - I'd have loved to know the artists reactions to finding out that their records were popular, or how they came to make them; I remember a short clip of Garnet Mimms was included where he couldn't believe Looking For You was popular, said he recorded it and forgot about it
