  3. please let me know - it's on the bottom of the "80 minutes of unissued tracks" thread
  4. Yeah this was an unissued Motown record which has the best intro on a record EVER - it's phenomenal. Then they start singing and it's not that great, but that intro alone should be played. I know where I got this from but not sure if it's "in the public domain", not that I care like...if I can find it I will enclose it here. If anyone wants to hear the show again, just say and I'll repeat it
  5. I know this is absolute sacrilige but listen to the lyrics, they are spot on!
  6. You could try it now but might be a bit shocked at the content of the latest program!!!
  7. Need to open and close the player a couple of times I think Grant. If you get a minute and want to try it, email me at pete.smith@freeuk.com and I'll broadcast something and you can try it, if you want to obviously
  8. Cheers mate. The station was actuallt at number 1 in the listeners chart! It's going back to the normal format of one soul, one ska now as I've run out of prepared rare tracks to play! Thanks to everyone for listening, remember, it's on most nights (and days) and I'll play whatever you want so long as it's not you know what.

Sunday nights are thrown open to anyone who wants to play any type of music, we do 60 minute guest spots. Anyone can do a Northern or Jamaican guest spot at any time, you just have to make a 60 minute cd or email me your selections as mp3's and I'll put the program together. see below for info on how to listen (by the way, the website where you connect has been playing up a bit and the link to my station wasn't working yesterday, clicking here https://84.9.68.174/radiodestiny.rdl should take you straight there...this IP address changes daily and is a pain in the arse but if you need any info just email me ok https://pirateradionetwork.com/ download the free mp3 player to be able to hear the broadcast, then scroll down to MUSIC and ALTERNATIVE and click on SOUL & SKA A GO GO (or listen via the WEBSTREAM link next to the station name) THE NORTHERN SOUL DVD'S ARE ALWAYS AVAILABLE - JUST ASK IF YOU WANT A LIST CHEERS Pete

  12. Robert L Martin
  13. He wanted to buy my ska records Mr Tyler, thats why I was having the conversation with him
  14. I don't understand this quote - 'when only the UK promo existed' - I had an issue throughout the 80's, bought it for £25 as an unknown. Bought a demo from Grammar School records in Rye in about 92 for £75. Swapped it with Richard Domar for something or other. The issue is way harder than the demo but the demo would go for £200 or so. The Merseybeats did a great version of the same song on Fontana, much faster. Also, Elvis Costello did a good version of it on Get Happy.
  15. and I enjoyed our little chat
  16. This is on all night tonight but it's mainly rocksteady and early reggae...kinnell, another 100+ listeners today
  17. Just thought I'd share that with you as I am not usually a name-dropper

  19. i DON'T KNOW, BUT IT'S TRUE, i REMEMBER ONE DAY IN THE MID 80'S i WAS AT WORK AND oops sorry, I was at work and there was a guy doing a phone in quiz, if he won he was allowed to choose his favourite record - he chose Billy Butler - Right Track and I can still remember every hair on my arm standing up immediately
  20. Absolutely brilliant mate and essential for anyone interested in collecting and discographies
  21. No, yesterday I wrote 'if anyone fancies tuning in today'
  22. Just amended this so it says today not yesterday
  23. I apologise for saying that this was bland and boring the other week. I've played it 3 times on the radio now and about 10 times on the cd player and it's a fantastic track. I'm sorry
  24. No, I sold every single original I had mate, from Vicki Baines to The Gambrells, and all those lovely UK 45's
