  1. I've just had a look at the rarities section and although there are some nice bits there, I can't believe he sells any of them at those prices!
  2. Last northern comp I bought was the latest Motown double - not really listened to it yet - been buying some David Bowie bootlegs - listening to one called Pierrot In Torquoise - early 70's outtakes...magic!
  3. So famous I've never heard of her or it
  4. Well you hit the nail on the head there mate - that's exactly what it's purpose is - it's not to be analised and taken apart, at the end of the day it's music to dance to.
  5. Love by Gladys on O-Gee is a cult record at the 44 Club in Wolverhampton. A cult of one, that is.
  6. Are you saying too much garbage was played in hindsight, or were you saying it at the time? I was 14 or 15 and I loved Paul Anka, Wombat, Jumping At The Go Go, Afternoon Of The Rhino, Lonely Man, Michael & Raymond, Bobby Paris, Manifesto, David & The Giants - all those mad stompers - I'd never have dreamt to question whether they had soul content or not. And I'm not gpoing to go into denial now because people say they have no soul content. There is a difference between Northern Soul and Soul. I'm not a soul fan. I love Northern Soul though.
  7. I've stopped looking at other dealers lists. For example, The Drifters record above, I'd sell that for £40 or £50. I can't afford to have overpriced records on my shelves, I have to sell them to survive, so if it doesn't sell at £50, next week it will be £40, and so on...
  8. Amazing how people can differ so much. Nobody ever said it was a soul record but it's a fantastic Northern Soul record. We used to have loads of those back then
  9. Yeah it was both UK and US MGM - same song as Tony Williams
  10. Why? They want to get as much money as possible for them. I always put mine on here and actually hardly ever put any soul records on ebay, prefer to sell them set sale.
  11. Bramhall Lane Fools Paradise
  12. Well they got it wrong didn't they because the music was brilliant in 77...it was 78 it all went pear shaped...were you actually there or did somebody tell you about it? Oh right, you read it in a book, well done, Janet & John next week
  13. What's your obsession with me and what I play? Not another stalker...
  14. :graynone:
  15. Cos it was on Channel 4
  16. Here is a useful tip if you want to see someones negative feedback; say a seller has 5000 feedbacks and 20 negatives, to save you going all the way through pages and pages of comments, go here www.toolhaus.org and enter the seller name and it will bring up just the negatives and neautrals. I would recommend you start by typing in this user name and reading in amazement christianartifacts
  17. Just let them get on with it Phil. People know what you play, know what Dave Rimmer plays; least progressive? No, just don't play shitty obscurities guaranteed to empty the dance floor.
  18. Chalky everyone knows the Gladys records have turned up in massive quantities and are practically worthless now. Plus the fact they are not very good records. Chapter Five is worth a million Gladys's or George Hobson's in my opinion. That's just my opinion. It's one of the greatest Northern Soul records ever, simple as that. Love to see how many of the soul police hated it back in 1977.
  19. Different records for different venues. Simple really. If I were somewhere else, I'd play something different. This time, it was gtoing to be well known oldies.
  20. Thats good news. Who is he?
  21. Never seen one - ever!
