Selling records is not an easy job at the moment, I can assure you of that. People are getting more selective and careful with money, and in my experience, oldies take up about 85% of all sales.
-
Yes because he personally owns it Atlantic still has the rights to the Atlantic-era Stax recordings released up to May 1968 most of which have been reissued by co-owned Rhino Records. Fantasy did release a box set titled The Stax Story which includes Atlantic-era material. Kent license from Fantasy.

Missed it yesterday by 50 cents.. I would have listed this for £75 if I'd won it - end price $69

I've never done this but I'm getting a bit fed up of it to be honest. You know there's getting on for 2000 people on this mailing list, that's a lot of people and lot of potential venue attendees and customers. So if you want to advertise your venue or product or whatever, I'll do you three mail outs for 5 quid, the ad will go out on my list, my list goes on KTF and on Soul Source also so you are looking at about 3000 people seeing it. If you don't want to pay the £5 - please stop asking me. POSTAGE FOR RECORDS £1.50 recorded delivery £5.00 special delivery Same prices for Europe Elsewhere, 50p extra. CREDIT CARD - CHEQUE - PAYPAL - CASH - POSTAL ORDER I take 'em all.

I liked it best when the artists didn't turn up, but Jr Walker was definitely the best I saw at Wigan. Martha reeves was pretty good too. Anyone remember seeing 'The Chants' at the 3rd anniversary and nobody knew who they were?

Revilot / Solid Hit / Ric-tic Etc - Bootlegs And Repressings
Pete S replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
No that was on a white label with red lettering (see earlier comment about Debonaires bootleg) -
Have the two price guide authors had a bit of a falling out or something? Some rather pointed statements on Anglos auction pages.
-
I always said I'd never put anything on Ebay before I offer it to the people on the mailing list at a set price, and as far as I know, I never have. It's not fair on the people who've stuck with me for years, that would be like telling them their money's not good enough. If you treat people right, they'll keep coming back, well thats the idea anyway. I never said there's anything wrong with making money mate, we all have to do it.
-
Thanks Mike
-
Is that Don't Pity Me in your avatar mate? Whats that, Brazilian or something?
-
Local pop group from the 60's, The Montanas, did about 6 singles for Pye produced by Tony Hatch...someone said they did a version of I'm Gonna Change which came out in the US only...anyone know if this is true or heard it?
-
Same with everything I sell mate, that's what I think it's worth so that's what I sell it for, even if it cost me £40 in the first place. £10 profit is £10 profit at the end of the day.
-
Yeah I was.
-
This is another of those records like John Bowie, Admirations, Ringleaders, that was sold as a reissue/pressing but turned out to be an original. Last time I had it which was 2 years back I listed it for £25 and I don't think that was a mistake. Who dictates that these records quadruple in price, is it just the price guides?
-
No I said it was only really worth £25 but would sell for £50-£75...I'd ask £50 it.

Revilot / Solid Hit / Ric-tic Etc - Bootlegs And Repressings
Pete S replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
Thats amazing that he had an outlet in St leonards On Sea - I lived there for 18 years and there was never a trace of an import record anywhere - tell a lie, I once found that thing on Port, The Gees, and a Terry Callier - Look at me now. Have you seen the Oldies Unlimited shop in Wolverhampton? How the mighty fall. -
Revilot / Solid Hit / Ric-tic Etc - Bootlegs And Repressings
Pete S replied to a topic in All About the SOUL
The yellow Ric Tic's are supposedly 'local' issues as opposed to the red 'national' ones. Same with the different colours for Revilot, grey local, pink national. Most of the red label vinyl Ric Tics are boots from the early 70's e.g. Real Humdinger, To Win Your Heart etc. The only Solid Hit boot I can think of is the Debonaires and it bears no resmblence to the pale blue original anyway. -
The only thing they have in common is the label...apart from that, the Roy Hamilton track is a giant pile of elephant dung

I posted a link to where anyone can enter a name and see the persons negative feedback, big deal. Got nothing against the seller.
