  1. Somebody please take Sonny up on his offer...must be loads of stories there. If I still did a magazine I'd be right in. You got any records left Sonny? were you 'The Nomads' or do you know who they were? Do you know the Phyllis Brown track Oh Baby on Rainbo? best wishes Pete
  2. Piccadilly... Brilliant sleeve notes on volume 2 as well
  3. Off the top of my head I don't remember but it's a horrible ballad
  4. Yeah but the supply in this case is more than plentiful!
  5. I don't
  6. actually I had one for sale last year, bought it on a friday afternoon and sold it same evening at the Station Hotel for £200...thought that was a fair price...was told at the time it was too cheap...I'd go £250 now
  7. Bottom line mate -it's your perogative to charge what you like, and whatever anyone else thinks doesn't matter... I also believe Christian was out of order to attack you so vehemently, though obviously I wouldn't stop him from saying anything he wanted, that's his right - it was just in the wrong place.
  8. I think maybe it would be a good idea to have conversations about prices away from the sales section - I just made a comment about a copy of 'Shep' someone was selling but I deliberately put in about the soul so that it wasn't linked directly to that listing.
  9. Thats a Billy Joe Royal track she covered, his version used to get played as well. Her version of The Real Thing was on the same LP and, I think, a slow version of Everything I Touch Turns To Tears.
  10. Actually that is a boot by the looks of it, but I didn't know about that one - only ever seen the white ones from 73-74.
  11. No I can see that Paul, I was just a bit concerned about grassing him up, if I had a beef with him I would, but I haven't, so I wouldn't feel right just reporting someone I didn't know - thats all...
  12. This does my head in a bit. LIke 3 weeks back when I listed the Van Dykes at £100 and everybody said I was a nutter, well that's what I think it's worth so that's what I put on it. I've got a "Cobblestone" on Mercury to go on, I reckon about £150, but in JM's book, £400! Brice Coefield, was going to stick £250 on, price guide is £450. Can't win really. A record like Shep, I wasn't joking when I said it would have been £20-£25, same with that awful thing with the same backing as Count The Days, £10 tops!
  13. Funny you should say that....
  14. £75 in sales section, quoting £100 selling price (JM)
  15. Absolutely no idea Dave, I never heard of it, played it and thought it was pretty good...thought someone else might know it
  16. When I was doing these (miscellaneous tracks not pirated cd's), bloke bought them off me, reported me to ebay, I got kicked off and he started selling my compilations using my artwork n.b. if he has 7000 tracks on one cd then the quality will be extremely poor
  17. The very first boot is like the one on the right of that picture but Suemi is in much larger letters
  18. Incredible that Shep can be that expensive (£100?) after floating around forever as a cheapie. I'm listing one next week, I was going to stick £25 on it and cross my fingers! SWONS!
  19. What is s7 oul???
  20. He's out of order recording other peoples cd's and reselling them but it's not up to you to tell people to report him really, is it? The software is available anywhere on the net for free also.
  21. Little known fact, there are two version of Barry St John, the one on Columbia obviously but when they did the British Soul Volume 2, EMI gave Goldmine an unissued take...which nobody spotted til I told them it's nowhere near as good as the issued one though.
  22. Can certainly do Kenny Roberts but I don't think I ever put Sonny Childe onto cd and don't have the record anymore - have it on tape but those are in the garage...and it's cold..brrrrr People take the piss when you say you like the Susan Maughan record but it truly is brilliant, the arrangement actually improves on the Wade Flemons version with that extra brass, and I like the way she changes the delivery as well...great stuff
