  1. which doesn't sound too unusual but I never buy northern records for myself, only to sell - as far as I know, I've got all my favourites so don't need any more. But I thought, if ever I see this one again, I'll buy it..lo and behold, it's on John Manship's site, part of Carl Willinghams collection, and would you believe it, it's the copy I actually sold to Carl 4 or so years ago...so here it is, a monster beat ballad which I'm sure you will all hate!!!
  2. We await the high-horsemen of the apocalypse!
  3. Bill, if I had to wait for you I'd grow a 3 foot beard, you asked me about it 8 days ago, it's been here since, obviously thinking you don't want it so stuck it on ebay. I had to close down my 'record delivery service' as their was only one customer, he was in Bridgnorth and a right pain
  4. Bring it out friday
  5. It's f*cking shit it's the tune to Prince Buster's Gun the man down...I've got this record I think!
  6. I'd just like whoever did it to come on here and justify and then explain why he hasn't reported everyone else who is selling multiple bootlegs and why he chose mine, that's all...but yeah you're right, sod 'em
  7. I think I used the word 'boot' - anyway, several bands release 'official bootlegs' so that filter wouldn't work?
  8. Several years ago I got a mint Jackie Wilson Because Of You demo but I'd never heard of it so I thought it was common like most of his other records and listed it at £15. After a couple of minutes, Simon Bridger from Brighton rang me and told me what it was really worth. Now he could have snapped it up for £15 and I wouldn't have known anything about it til all the calls came in - that was a great thing to do. Though I've kept him sweet in 70's music footage ever since. I also listed the rare Nate Evans record on Twinight for £20 a couple of weeks later and someone told me about that as well. If you look after people and don't treat them like shit, you'll get people do the same for you.
  9. Ken I'm not bothered about whats happened, what I am bothered about is the nasty, sneaky nature of it and the fact that someone got pleasure out of it, and of course they won't say who they are. OK I'll forget it.
  10. Rich, I can guarantee you it won't be someone crusading for the rights of the artist but someone who is jealous of my good looks and personality and wants to cause me grief, 100% definite this site is full of 'em.
  11. I think that's a bit naieve Dan, what they suddenly spot one pressing and leave all the other hundreds up there? Especially one that looks like a pretty legit UK release.
  12. I just wonder if this person has reported everyone else who is selling pressings on ebay, there must be over 1000 'reissues' on there at any given time, yet because I've got one nestling amongst 50 originals and because it's me, they think they are so clever. Bullied at school I bet. I think I've just about had it on here now.
  13. I'd just like to say to whoever actually went and reported this to ebay and got it removed - despite me just posting details on here to show people can be honest in advertising - you're a sneaky c*nt and hope you're pleased with yourself. You're pathetic.
  14. Great intro though...
  15. Looking at that UK demo is doing strange things to me
  16. I think there's a Drifter demo on my website...British one...yes there is. Weird, I couldn't sell this for love nor money, only 3 years back as well. Think I took £100 for it.
  17. Oh bugger...well Nat hall is good anyway. George Pepp is ok but a bit schmaltzy for me
  18. I've got 2 copies at the moment, now thats just sods law innit! Also got 2 copies of the Slim Smith lp on Pama and 2 of The Lovely Dozen on Pama, you'd wait a year before you saw another usually
  19. Surely no mistakes can be made with this one https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMESE%3AIT&rd=1
  20. I told him I'd try and find a price though mate...500? 1000?
  21. post of the year so far
  22. Serious question this guys so if anyone can give a straight answer it would be very helpful, friend of mine has this record but is having a problem valueing it, please read.. I have a VG+ copy of Mr. Lucky on Stardom, one of the rarest and most desirable soul 45's on everybody's list. The only problem with it ... there's a break that extends about half way into the playing area. I realigned it, and the break is barely even visible, and it makes no noise at all. The record plays great. I am thinking of auctioning it, and will carefully explain the record to any interested buyers. It books for 1500 pounds in Brown and Koppel. Manship does not even suggest a price, other than "negotiate" Where do you reckon I should start the bidding on something like that?
  23. What's his name???
  24. Anyone else who's after it, Jackie Mittoo track is on the superb Trojan lp "You left me standing" with 15 other choice cuts from the Rio label...it's an early one and pretty rare, but well worth checking out.
