Anyone know a price for Marge Dodson - Be Your baby - decca demo. It isn't in either of the books but I've had it a long time ago, but I'm sure somebody told me it was now big bucks .. any ideas?
-
But why would anyone want a black and white label one with the word Lenny spelled wrong, when there's a more recent full colour label pressing available? Wacky world of NS.
-
Those were all pressed at the wrong speed! Way too fast.
-
Sorry about that. The Liverpool band were The Trends...I was close!
-
I'm sure that Belgium concert has been out before - not on dvd, but on video
-
I think they were from Liverpool but might be wrong...came out on Page One in the UK I think. If you really want to know more I'll dig the info out
-
the crack's barely visible and it isn't going to get any worse, anyway have you got some kind of x-ray vision or sommat you're able to see records from 200 miles away Hot knife mate...works a treat
-
It wouldn't be in this country if it wasn't for me, you scoundrel
-
It's over 1700 quid already mate. If it were my top want I'd buy it even if it stank of cheese every time I played it. When I collected properly I kept turning down records because they weren't quite mint and now I kick myself as to what I turned down, so nowadays if I see something I want I buy it, whatever the condition. Thats not a sales pitch to you by the way, just saying that I lived to regret not buying certain items and they have never been offered again. Even worse is when I've sold things, thinking I'd get them again easy, and still not seen another one!
-
The guy whi did that was a black guy called "Patto", he was a right bastard, last time I saw him he was having a toe to toe with 2 Chelsea fans who purposely went into the family section at Wolves to kick off some trouble. That was back in about 1981 though...
-
Just to let anyone interested know that I have got this record in my hands now and the crack is absolutely minimal. yes it does have a small crack but it cannot be heard at all. It has some general wear and tear and is still a nice VG++. John Manship only knows to 2 other copies. I know to one other. Any of you who get my regular lists will know that I never put stuff up for offers unless I have absolutely no idea of the price but I don't really see a way round selling this one as I've got 3 people after it already and how do you say yes to one and no to the others? Anyway, that's the lowdown on it...John reckons if mint it would have been 4 grand!!!

First time I ever went to Wigan, these guys mugged me on our own coach!!!
-
I was gobsmacked when I was told who it was, because like I said, last I'd heard of him he'd been sent down for armed robbery...certainly had no idea he was back on the scene. I believe that the 'middle man' did give refunds to all who took the records back, he is beyond suspicion, trust me.
-
Thing is - I live what, 9 miles away from where these were sold and I didn't know a thing about it until a couple of weeks after it happened. So they certainly weren't offered around. The story I heard is that the guy who nicked them, picked them up on the car park at keele after they'd been left outside not condoning that obviously but blimey, not the best way to keep your records secure
-
You need to be careful what you say mate. I heard this story from the person who unwittingly bought them and he'd been selling them in his shop, totaally unaware of their background. However, if you think the person who stole them is likely to be worried about threats I can assure you he won't be. When we were growing up on the scene we knew all about this guy and his mob and you kept your head down and said nothing. They were responsible for practically all of the chemist break ins in this area and they ended up doing the armed robbery on the Midland Counties Dairy. Just saying...these people are criminals, they are not just your ordinary soul punters.

I can't believe the green one can possibly be worth £45, not arguing with you like but I'd have asked 20 for it and maybe 50 for the demo, which actually is rare.

Chicago Allstars - Nowhere to run - Tri-Em. Really gospelly female vocal (lyrics refer to nowhere to run from sin whatever)
-
That seller had part of the massive haul discovered 3 years back - the ones John had. They have already sold 2 copies of jackie day on ebay...at least 2 copies I should say.
-
The way I work, 10 quid profit is 10 quid profit, 50 x 10 quid profit is 500 quid profit. Plus it's always nice to have good titles on the lists!
-
I bought a car mp3 player recently so I just do a random compilation of 300 tracks and leave it on, you never know whats going to be on next so it's good fun. Except for motorway driving when the only thing I listen to is "old skool jungle", really loud
-
Am interested but not great at making offers! That Clyde McPhatter, people don't realise how rare that is, very very hard to find. This company in the States did a Clyde McPhatter cd a few years back and I had to supply them with both sides of that record because the master had gone missing, then they found an alternate mix in the vaults.

Theres a Kelly Garrett pressing on Ebay at $152 at the moment, they could have one off me for less than £10, what is the matter with this people???
