I think the Sam Fletcher is just a promo art sleeve featuring upcoming titles including the latest Beatles 45
-
Or...I put a list out, I immediately get an email saying 'have you got so and so' so I reply and say yes, then sit and wait for the person who asked to return the email to say he wants it, meanwhile 3 other people have asked for it and I have to say someone reserved it. Of course, he never gets back to me. Maybe I should put a disclaimer, "if you ask if a record is available you've f*cking bought it and I'm taking it off your card"

Ady at the risk of yet more ridicule, I'd say the reason the first one sounds great and to my ears preferable to the CD version on Kent is because it's not so polished and cleaned up so therefore it sounds rawer. It's like when you hear a lot of these tracks on CD, they sound a little TOO good. So I overdub them with a tape of scratches and surface noise to make them sound poor again

Wasn't bothered about that mate, just wondering what the point was
-
I hope that Pat Thomas isn't some mega rarity, I sold it for £15 yesterday on Verve to Woody
-
Well that last one is the file I sent up yesterday...the same recording...Ady says it's the same as the first version. The first version sends shivers...
-
He also did a nice track 'The shelter of your arms' which also came out by Bobby Sheen...I think..
-
I've seen this record hanging around for 30 years now and I've never actually heard it until now. I thought it was great! Just the sort of stuff that would have been big in the really early 70's I reckon.

In 1972 a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire the A-Team. This could be us guys!!! Sorry mate I was being facetious, it was obvious from the second I saw it, I just can't believe people can be so economical with the truth

I put this lot on ebay as I didn't think it was the sort of stuff my buyers are usuall into but if anyone wants them and wants to make an offer I'll take them down off Ebay. Theres also a collection of about 60 UK Tamla Motowns that I put up there as well, plus some harder northern bits and bobs, click on see sellers others items I guess. https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZmayfairmentholQQhtZ-1QQfrppZ50QQfsopZ1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0? This is a list of British label club sounds from the 60's and early 70's. They are all in conditions of VG+ (many are EX) the odd one or two are G/VG but they are very few and far between. If you need to know about any individual items, please ask. None are reissues unless stated. Great little collection here. What do you think of this.. "The payment went through and your record was shipped out today. I will leave you a FEEDBACK with Ebay when you leave a feedback for me that you received the record and everything is fine." No you won't, you'll leave me a feedback NOW because I carried out my part of the deal and paid you for a record. The cheek of some of these people, in this case it was D & J RECORDS someone tell me I'm not making a fuss over nothing, this is very very annoying.
-
I'll swap you a John Manship price guide for that Contemplations
-
I love this record incidentally
-
Yeah thats Sammy, arrived december 11th...he's been getting rave reviews from some of the girls I have to say. Smashing little chap. Very greedy mind.
-
Never seen that styrene press at the top. The UK Pye Int doesn't feature the name Joe Stampley if I remember correctly (but neither does it have that first guitar note that are on the US versions)
-
Played at Stafford...as was an acetate version by Carol King (I think)...quite rare on UK but very hard to sell

Ever Been Thrown Out Of A Record Store ?
Pete S replied to Russ Vickers's topic in All About the SOUL
He ought to be banned just for buying jazz! -
I have to disagree with the - sort of - back in the mid 90's I bought a copy of Court Davis (when it really was still rare) off a rock'n'roll/pop list, based in the Uk, where it was described as a Gene Pitney soundalike. The point being, nobody on earth could have imagined it would ever appear on that particular sales list. So there will definitely be records around. The copy of Will Collins I had came from a charity shop in Eastbourne. I also got Anthony & The Aqualads in Eastbourne for FREE, bloke gave it me as I also bought an LP off him
-
Yeah it was ok because it's a great song, but I didn't really like it compared to the other one, though I'm sure Hippo posted that version up on here a few months back so I had heard it - or one similar. Apologies if it wasn't Hippo!
-
Ady this is Searlings copy, obviously it is running a little slow when you listen to it but it doesn't sound like the same take to me, maybe it is, but soon as I heard the one that came out on the 45 I thought it wasn't the one I knew...or something...
-
No, the vocal is different at the end - definitely. I'll see if I can find it. Unless it's not double tracked like the one on the cd?
-
Got this off Mick Holdsworth but he only had like half the track, how he cut and pasted it together I'll never know, or I'd like the program that did it!
-
Obviously I'm not in much of a position to disagree but it doesn't sound like that one, in fact it isn't that one - the endings are different!
