  1. Blimey, you should haveleft it with Customs
  2. Not this year mate...too cold for me! Do you not see what I'm on about that CD though, it's nearly all piano backing and little else, am I listening to the finished version or did it somehow leak out before it was finished? I've had it about 3 months.
  3. Can't see it Neil, what format is it in??
  4. An absolutely pointless cover version. I got the lastest Rick Astley cd for my missus, the cover versions one, and it sounds like it's not even completed, like a collection of demos. Maybe it is! Terrible...all that we need is a cry for help!
  5. Sounds like a tenth rate dirge to me, but hey, so did Mr Lucky
  6. Check the voices out on the speeded up version, I've slowed Jackie's voice down and it sounds really strange hearing him singing a little lower
  7. Right then, here it is again, with the intro cut off, the vocal changed and the backing track speeded up. The wonders of modern technology eh? oops hang on, wrong one this should be it
  8. I can do that if you think it might be better
  9. Me too, but the funniest one had to be in 'novelty' - I got Rose Brooks I'm Moanin and Butch Baker - Fat man at the GoGo on the same weekend. One because it was listed as the other side (they're coming to take me away) and the other because it was a TV related novelty. I think I paid like $3 each for them. Having said that, I couldn't believe how little I paid for that Chandlers in the correct section the other night
  10. I had a feeling it did...Casino Classics rang a bell but I couldn't see it in the singles listing
  11. Nah it's made of metal anyway so it won't break. Just not my cup of tea but maybe someone will want it? It's a stereo 7" acetate made by Capitol Magnetics Winchester VA but I think most Audiodiscs may be made there.
  12. Posted this on the other jackie Wilson thread but thought it may not get heard so here it is on it's own. I doubt if this would ever get plkayed because the intro is way way too long, but once you get past that, it's a great r & b number. Well I think so anyway...liked it on first hearing. See what you think.
  13. Interested in this thread because I was going to send up a Jackie Wilson & Linda Hopkins track up myself. I doubt if this would ever get plkayed because the intro is way way too long, but once you get past that, it's a great r & b number. Well I think so anyway...liked it on first hearing. See what you think.
  14. This is The Reflections on Audiodisc acetate, I'm presuiming they are the group who did "3 steps from true love", anyway this is a horrible uptempo 70's record which sounds a bit like the Anderson Bros in places, I just need to know whether it is unreleased or am I sitting on, literally, a potential biggie p.s. it's called Gonna Love You Longer
  15. I probably had either a) no records or no money but for you to put my name up there is well out of order as it looks like I had some part in whatever happened. Official complaint on the way.
  16. the only main dealer to support the site was Joe Dunlop, PS indicated that he would list, never did Well what a surprise, I should have guessed it was all MY fault, it always is. I was the only one, was I? B*llocks.
  17. why does someone always churn this statement out whenever someone not on soul source is mentioned? The promoter isn't likely to come on making comments if he hasn't already got the facts, is he, and if the DJ behaves in this manner then good for him for warning prospective bookers.
  18. The one on Ebay is the one I put the feelers out for. The same chap also sold one a few months previously, but he only had the two.
  19. Here's another one https://cgi.ebay.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-JOHNNY-C...bayphotohosting now it's listed as a reissue but it was never reissued on Decca so presumably this is to confuse matters and make people think they are getting an original for the price of a reissue. However if you look at the centre of the record, it looks jagged. So I reckon they've stuck a colour photocopy over the top of a Champion bootleg. Same seller has a reissue of The Ringleaders but again has a picture of the original. Both items have made over £60 so far.
  20. If anyone from my part of the world i.e. Wolverhampton, Brum etc would like to go, I'll drive us up...let me know...I'd like to attend.
  21. Last week was it???
  22. Shurley shome mishtake? I just find a lot of cd recordings a bit sterile thats all. Like going to football and having to sit down. Or something.
  23. Three cheers for Trevski!!
