  1. Looks like a pirate release to me, see how the songwriter text isn't aligned?
  2. But what if you don't like it??
  3. DOCTOR GOOD SOUL’S NORTHERN PRESCRIPTION Okay I agree it’s the worst title I’ve ever done apart from ‘Podcast With No Name’ but the music’s pretty good, and I’ve thrown a few curve balls in there just to make sure everyone is paying attention. Decks were playing up again so apologies for any static clicks you can hear, also for some reason I kept getting some, er, juddering, when the Mac records the record but it sounds like the track is jumping…anyway it took me ages to set up, select and record so I didn’t want to just scrap it as most of it is pretty good. And I broke away from tradition by ending with some 70’s records instead of the usual Big Beat Ballads. Anyway, hope you enjoy it… Pete p.s. People often ask me why there are no track listings — but I always supply a track listing — it is hidden by default, but there is a tab just down from the top of the screen which says SHOW TRACKLIST. 4. I don't think there's plenty of any of the 60's and early 70's A & M demos really, hundred, couple of hundred each -
  5. Being the underdog doesn't make the record any better though, it's just * nothing *
  6. George lemons, I would never ever buy that unless I could get it at a price where I could make money on it. George Pepp is a different matter.
  7. Mick says he had one in his box at £12. I'll see him tomorrow and get it.
  8. I just listened to the Doc Peabody record for the first time. I think the vocal is ok. I just can't understand why anyone would buy the record though, it's got nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd, it's what the word 'soul pack' was invented for, just bland, pleasant nothingness which right minded people might pay a fiver for at a push. I had no idea people disliked the George Pepp record, that one is real quality.
  9. I get the sneaky suspicion you don't believe us
  10. Now I know how my Mum feels when I try to teach her about computers and she gives me that look that says "what the f*ck"?
  11. No the chap still has them mate sorry. No probs with the mags though, just a case of remembering to do it
  12. EX should be blemish free but not unplayed. EX- one mark not affecting play.
  13. Just in case I was wrong, I asked Mick Smith who also agreed with me - about £15 on issue £30 on demo..
  14. People in the UK see VG and think 'knackered', simple as that, which is why we use EX. VG is the new G unfortunately.
  15. Well done Dan, that was a brilliant write up.
  16. Saw an excellent Northern Soul display in HMV (Merry Hill) yesterday, promoting back catalogue in promotion of the forthcoming movie - looked great, wish I'd taken a photo now. Is this in other HMV's?
  17. Won't happen again Dave
  18. I haven't had that demo I don't think but I've definitely had issues - the reasons so few copies on Popsike - lesser known and not great demand, no US release either I don't think.
  19. Eight copies on Popsike, 6 are from the same seller who is the only one to describe it as 'withdrawn' but one unusual copy without the white Spector oogo at the top.
  20. Too many copies about though? Honestly, never had a problem getting this on UK
  21. I've had this a few times but usually on an issue so that would suggest to me that it wasn't withdrawn Darren, also they released another great Spector produced single, Everyday I Have To Cry, so no reason for them to pull that one (unless to be replaced by 'Everyday'). Both fantastic 45's though.
  22. That second single, the one on the right, I just listed that on Discogs and actually played it, I love it! Swinging Jazz R & B, a new genre...
  23. Who said that?
  24. I don't use M grade either, only M-. VG+ is a used record though. Which is why there should always be an EX grade.
  25. No it's not, it's a joke that EX isn't use in USA grading, the leap from VG+ to M- is massive and more or less every time I list on Discogs I have to put is actually EX in the comments.
