  7. Various reasons for buying one: can't afford the original and not realising there's a difference are the main ones. But having a track on cd is no compensation for having a piece of vinyl which you can look at and touch, boot or no boot.
  8. Fantastic record. I remember Ian ringing me up one friday afternoon, I bet he'd just come out of the studio after finishing it...said have a listen to this, so he played it down the phone, it sounded awesome, but far enough away from the phone to not be able to make everything out. Ian also found a few other people, obviously trying to set the wheels in motion e.g. it's on this label, see if you can find it. Ah those were the days. Blinding track though.
  9. Yeah I thought it was a nice demo, don't see it very often. Problem with the seller though - absolutely refuses to mark the package as a gift or put a low value on it, what difference does it make to them? They said.. It is against U.S. law for a business to send sold merchandise as a gift. Some sellers don't honor this law, but we do. As stated in the auction listing, under the terms and conditions: The bidder is responsible for any tariffs, taxes, VAT, etc. assigned by Customs authorities. In accordance with US law, we MUST declare the full value of any item we ship and CANNOT declare it as a gift. F*cking tightwads, that'll teach me not to read their conditions, anyway I won't be buying anything else off them.
  10. Sorry Ken I only speak English
  11. Like I said, may be old hat to some...
  12. The clips seem to have disappeared! I'll try again sorry for any duplication but they are not showing up on my pc
  13. Actually they are only new to me so they may be old hat to everyone else, anyway see what you think. 1) "Willie Hightower" this is pretty good, r & b meets northern 2) "Jewel Brown" a very nice midtempo track which builds as it goes along, grows on you 3 labelled as 5) "Bobby King" thought this was r & b ish but it may be too much like rock & roll for some
  14. Labelled 6) "Tiny Robin" this is sort of popcorn, it's very early 60's and on reflection it's rubbish but it has the name Van McCoy on the label so I thought it might be worth a listen Labelled 8) "Linda Martell" pretty good uptempo r&b thing, both sides quite good actually
  15. Well I've sold 2 copies of the version you want on here in the last 6 weeks for 15 and 20 quid each, you ought to check the sales listings. This record is common as hell and in no way worth any more!
  16. Got a few things up on buy it now's as well as a bunch of decent originals...including Dean Courtney, Alfie Davison, Youngblood Smith, Barbara McNair, Poets, Billy Storm, Teddy Randazzo and so on. The better stuff starts towards the bootm of the first page. What makes me laugh is that most of the set sale items are cheaper than what these records usually fetch at auction, but nobody buys them! https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZmayfair...1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0
  17. I had 2 x Frank Beverly on OOTP on ebay 2 months back. I think they went for 10 or 12 each. Which is about right really.
  18. Good luck selling Rach, you can pay me back now
  19. Of course I knew it was a bootleg, I was just so amazed that anyone would list it at 99 quid I thought it was worth mentioning and having a laugh at!
  20. Taking the p*ss, this bloke...99 quid start as well! https://cgi.ebay.com/NORTHERN-SOUL-DENA-BAR...1QQcmdZViewItem
  21. The Pama album only has a nominal value really. They released a few oddballs like this including an LP commemorating Prinec Charles investiture ?) in Wales in 1969 and an album by the Milwaukie Coasters which I am unfortunate enough to own.
  22. Jo, I knew about this as Paul's family were in touch with Kev's wife after Paul died. If you would like this event advertised please pm me the details and I'll do a mail out for you to my mailing list. Great bloke Kev is, I'd like to help.
  23. I saw Dave Shaw on thursday, he was at Crispie's funeral
  24. It's surely a UK recording - it's not Brian Poole though - can't remember another male version
  25. £40 it is then!
