  1. I put that up last week, it's from The Word, 1993
  2. According to my 'rare soul dvd list' (available from me, free) it's Arts file - early 90's overview from the bbc, actually a fairly intelligent look at the scene
  3. I know, I was just 'acting' nearly all these reports are the same, they are clueless - I've got a couple that are accurate, one from the BBC circa 1990, I'll dig it out
  4. Thanks, that makes it all worthwhile
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKBE3mlSnqE
  6. It's still miles better than this so called R & B and dance shite that's been in the charts for the last decade or more
  7. Looks like there's a problem - says 'still processing' on their site but it's only 15 seconds long!
  8. Thats what I meant Steve, the 2000's not the 90's, I'm a f*cking dummy
  9. (Give this 10 minutes to be processed) Ian Levine obviously persuaded the BBC cameras to get down to the inaugral Rocket allnighter back in - gosh when was it, 2000? 2001? Anyway, here's the usual patronising look at Northern Soul plus some dancers from the Rocket and a few archive clips.
  10. It will be in a minute Ken, when it goes up to their site it takes them 10 minutes to get it ready for viewing, I forgot about that, sorry
  11. Clip from Jameson's People, BBC 1. Phil Dick was in this, and Ady C. Don't know who this chap is - I bet a lot of you do - he's pretty good though.
  12. This is from an early 2000's BBC drama series set in Manchester called Clocking Off. In this clip, two of the shows main characters go to The Ritz in Manchester (to relive their youth by the looks of it). It is actually filmed at the Ritz, and most of those extras are 'real' Northern soulies. The music, of course, is the brilliant "Champion" by Willie Mitchell
  13. At exactly 53 seconds into the track (on the video), the first sample of the Detroit Land Apples comes in. You must surely be able to hear it.
  14. Kinnell, it's as plain as day, it's sampled all the way through it and if you can't hear it then by jove, I'm afraid I can't help you!
  15. No, but here is the little un wearing his
  16. Bootleg, worth 10 pence. (oops sorry didn't realise someone else already said so) p.s. shop in Norwich sold me an original of Dickie Wonder as a boot!
  17. Ermmmm...possibly....only like for like though (value I mean)
  18. For the conny-sewers amongst you. Looking at £150+ for each of these really. There are sound clips on both items if you fancy a listen. I realise there are only a couple of people on here hardcore enough to be interested in items like this at that sort of price but you never know. The Monty Morris 45 makes the Glenn Miller look easy to find! https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=110024989685 https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=110024992210
  19. Yes thats on the Studio One story dvd
  20. Went out on the mailing list before it went on Soul Source
  21. Quinvy said: It's deffo not the Detroit Land Apples, though it is similar... It is 100% definitely the Detroit Land Apples!
  22. Is number 7 Joe L on Clissac? Or..I forget..on Di Venus?
  23. The term Mafia also came into common parlance in the 30's. Actually, this term originated in the 1870's, from a Sicilian word denoting courage or bravura. So you see, Keb or any of his mates could not have invented the word as they were not born til the late 50's and early 60's
  24. Updated, thanks to everyone who's bought stuff today
