Charles Diamond And The Inspirations - Breakthrough - Reply From Charles Diamond - Priceless
Which is more or less what I said to you an hour back, definitely a 60's recording

Charles Diamond And The Inspirations - Breakthrough - Reply From Charles Diamond - Priceless
What planet are you on, £20 maximum, it's a reissue for goodness sake and they are not rare.

Don Thomas
The Fidels - try A Little Harder was on NUVJ with an instrumental version on the b side. Don Thomas should be maybe £50 tops for an issue and £80 for a demo. Well that's what I think they are worth and that's what I would sell them to you for.

Ready Steady Go
yeah well it's a home made bootleg. so what, I could have done that for you, so there is actually NO official dvd footage of it.

Ready Steady Go
From what I can remember, there are 3 volumes of RSG on video, there's the Otis Redding special and the Motown special. I've got all these on the original vhs tapes but never bothered transferring them to dvd as I thought everyone had got them.

Couple Of Prices Please
I sell Eddie Holman for 25 or 30 quid - 40 on a demo. No idea about Drizabone but I've got one here anyone can have for a tenner!

Audrey Matthews-i Have No Choice
Again I hate to disagree with you and I'm not doing it just for the sake of it, but I must have had 100 things cut by them, especially when nobody else was doing it, and some of the cuts have actually been better quality than the originals, really beefed up. I've only got 3 or 4 left but none are in the slightest bit quiter than the original records, all of which I once owned.

That's not strictly true mate, they can use mp3's if the customer wishes but they can cut from any source - vinyl, cd, tape, whatever

Like I said, the original is one sided. The instrumental came along when the reissue came out

Mick Smith's got it, he has Searling's old copy, it's a one sided disc with an orange label, Breakthrough is in a straight line across the top, I was looking at it about a month back. The reissue has a much fuller production and lasts a good 25 seconds longer. I persoanlly prefer the second version. I found Charles Diamond himself about 2 years back, his missus wrote to me for some reason, can't quite remember now. I put them in touch with Kev Roberts

Audrey Matthews-i Have No Choice
Having just listened to this again, it's even worse than I remembered. It's out of tune, the vocal is poor and just listen to those male backing singers before the second chorus. Honestly, it's an insult to Johnnie Mae Matthews to say that this version is in the same league.

Is There A Male Version?

Ready Steady Go
Well I've seen beatles clips recorded on 8mm cameras so I guess it's possible. Not quite the same, but my ex wife had some reel to reels of Top Of The Pops from 1967 which her dad recorded at the time - one had Pink Floyd doing See Emily Play - an episode which the BBC don't have any longer. Shame it's only an audio recording!

Soul Blenders - Love Built On A Strong Foundation
SOUL BLENDERS - LOVE BUILT ON A STRONG FOUNDATION - VANESSA As discussed elsewhere, I now have that copy for sale, looks a bit battered, plays not bad at all, I have recorded the actual record so you can hear what it's like for yourself. I'm after any reasonable offers for this £50 or over. I'll give it til this evening and if anyone's made an offer, I'll take the best one. There is a scan of the label on the other Soul Blenders topic which I can't find!

Ready Steady Go
Apparently Clark's footage is all that's left. It was found in a building which was being demolished. The only chance of anything turning up in my opinion is if it comes from overseas like some of the BBC clips have (sent out to foreign tv stations). Although nobody knows what private collectors have got, I've been in touch with a guy who has thousands of clips from 60's shows but he just won't let them go unless he trades them for things of equal rarity. Won't sell them. Now and again things turn up - I got The NME Poll Winners Shows at Wembley from 64 and 65, both obviously stolen from ABC TV at some time as it has their count ins at the beginning.

General Feeling About Record Prices
I think it was me who sold the last one, and that copy was mint, only went for something like £680! The £900 one looks way way down the league compared to the one I sold. (It was selling it for someone else before anyone says I'm being greedy!)

Thanks Sean. I have a feeling I threw that tape away because some of it was very poor quality. I definitely remember them waiting in a hotel room for Melvin Davis though.

Four Seasons- Dawn On Radio 2
You're right Mick, though I have to say I never saw this at the time. I remember hearing you play the vocal of Bok To Bach off an emidisc credited to Tina Parker more than a year before it was pressed - at the Bradmore Arms...31 years ago that was
