  1. John, thanks again for your help. It's a bootleg then. I'm f*cked if I'm paying 40 quid for that!
  2. Dunno Ted, I'd have thought about 600 for Yvonne Baker. I traded my Vickie Baines for over £1000 worth of records. Think I sold Christine Cooper issue for £400.
  3. In case that link doesn't work https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...y0%3D%26fvi%3D1
  4. I couldn't remember it being pressed on this design Tuff label so thought I'd give it a bash, must say I'm a but suspicious about the bidder 'detroitphil' who has no feedback and has never bid on another record apart from to drive the price of this one up - what do you lot think? https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...bayphotohosting
  5. I think I've had all of them now, including the Vickie Baines stock copy...amazing when you think that records like SOS Heart In Distress are round in massive quantities...
  6. I can sell you I Won't Do Anything for ten quid, near mint...Cowards way out is on a different 45 though, not sure if thats what you meant
  7. Only problem is - I think I was probably the last auction winner for both these records!
  8. The last book prices I've got for these are: jean carter demo 150 (jm) 150 (tb) janie grant issue 200 (jm) 60 (tb) the TB valuation of the janie grant is a joke, or a mistake - it's almost as tough as the Christine Cooper issue I was going to stick 175 on each of those
  9. OK so it looks like a lot of people think I'm wrong in saying that people are overpricing records. So here are two nice items which I have coming up on my next list. One is a mint demo of JEAN CARTER - LIKE ONE, and I mean mint, unplayed. The other is the extremely scarce issue copy of JANIE GRANT - MY HEART, YOUR HEART on Parkway. Condition mint minus, played one or two times maximum. I'd be very interested to see what other people would price these at. Serious answers I mean.
  10. It's really common, you should be able to find one on ebay for a couple of dollars. Anyone noticed that in the middle of this there's a section stolen compltely from Lou Christie's Lightnin Strikes!
  11. Me, personally...300 quid but the demand for that is non-stop so maybe 350...but I'd have listed the Velours for 200-250 (I asked Mick Smith the same question and he also said 250)
  12. Of course I have. It's only as rare as The Charades issue. Not exactly up to Dean Courtney standard.
  13. Yes it is mate, I also saw it when I was very young and was totally besotted by it from about the age of 5 til I saw it again when I was maybe 11. Then after that I was besotted by Janet Leigh's bust (as it appears in the film) sadly I can't find any pics of this. Didn't see it again for many years but JC Tom sent me a copy on video a few years back.
  14. I'm very pleased for you Chris, good for you. But I'm not going to stand here and tell people I took £2000 on a list last week when a lot of the people only earn a 10th of that every week. The facts are, records are harder to sell and people are more fussy about what they buy. Price guides are out of the window going by the set sales we see on here. I'll sell records at reasonable and what I consider fair prices, if people want to pay twice as much for them from other people then that's entirely up to them. You don't do a list every week Chris. If I only did one every month or every 6 weeks I'd take 10 grand a time.
  15. I may be wrong but I don't think it was on a Loma lp, and if it was - how come? It was definitely on a Destiny LP called The Record Collector from 1979. That was the first time I heard it.
  16. I think I've got that, I'll have a look
  17. Why?
  18. Neither of them have great voices. Diana's is too shrill and Martha's never had any power.
  19. https://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQsassZmayfair...1QQfsooZ1QQrdZ0
  20. I have an interesting fact about The Inticers record. I saw Mick Smith's copy of this the other day and on the label it says "master Soul Galore ..." and then a number - it was Soussan's old copy used to do the bootleg on Soul Galore. Doubt if many other copies have turned up apart from that one.
  21. You were lucky!
  22. And just to point something out - I never said I wasn't doing well - I'm doing alright, I sell about 80% of what I list, but as far as I'm concerned, I sell at fair prices. Do you or does anyone on the entire planet think the Velours is worth £500? Whats funny is if I said the sky was blue you'd say it was green.
  23. Oh right, it must just be me then you crack me up Chalky, come on then, who are these lovely dealers who are doing really well, let me guess...
  24. I pity Joe Public!
  25. Well I've seen a couple of lists on here today and over the last few days to be honest featuring records at the most ridiculous prices, sometimes double what I'd sell them for (that's 500 quid instead of 250 quid!) so the question is, are these people actually selling anything? Especially at a time like this when sales are ever harder to come by, I can't see the logic in putting prices up.
