  1. I'll say one thing about Andy Sewart though - on that record "Donald Where's yer Troosers", half way through there's an Elvis Presley impersonation and it's far and away the best I've ever heard, if that was Andy Stewart he could have made a living from doing Elvis's voice.
  2. Not that funny really - I know more about pop music than I do about soul music!
  3. Not saying he hasn't Paul, what I'm on about is nobody has ever heard of someone then one person posts something and all of a sudden, everyone gets involved. I remember you posting about it months ago and you obviously had a problem worth shouting about so thats not what I meant.
  4. Has he ripped you off?
  5. Great version.
  6. They wouldn't have had time to make promos I suppose? I once got a copy of the demo from the novelty section on ebay for $3. Week later I got Rose Brooks from the same section (listed for it's official A side of course) Anyway I've got 2 questions for you. 1) Is there any record you haven't got? I can't believe some of the stuff you post up. 2) How do you get those scans to look so neat and lovely and sit next to each other like that, and when I post one up it lands in the middle of the text?
  7. Ah the old mob mentality, that's how to make a new member feel welcome alright
  8. Blimey it's slow today...
  9. It wasn't showing up Rach that's why I had to use the attachment
  10. Could you post up here and not on that shit website with pop ups all over it?
  11. Real 'old school' stuff here, I absolutely love this and most of the others associated with it, sometimes Simon Soussan should be congratulated! Fred Smith Orchestra
  12. Harley Hatcher - Soul Hustler - MGM. Am only posting this one because someone asked me to send them a clip and it's on my list today - I don't think I'd heard this for 20 years until I just recorded it - what a very strange track it is. Formerly covered up as Al De Lory - Discotheque Alibi. Really like the stomping breaks but the rest is a bit weird for me.
  13. Thanks mate.
  14. Need some info on a record which was listed as being demo only in the last price guide but may have changed now: Butch Baker - Batman At The Go Go on St Lawrence 1010 stock copy. Price please if available. thanks in advance
  15. That was the musical equivalent of having your teeth pulled without anaesthetic

  17. I don't know and I only live a stone's throw away from Craig. I've heard of a "rammall" if thats how it's spelt. Dunno what it means though, people used to say it at school...
  18. It's no worse than Frankie & Johnny...the vocals are brilliant - better than Marvin & Tammi and Otis & Carla
  19. I didn't like that Billy Stewart treatment of it - though I do like Billy Stewart - love the Virgil Bros version though. They were Aussies I think.
  20. It was subtitled Theme From BBC's Wednesday Night Play or similar on the label
  21. St. George has a certain 'je ne sais quoi' about him
  22. Not enough synths and electric percussion in there for you??
  23. Always nice to hear that the artists are ok - Frank Howard case in point. There's a link on that blog to another track off The Beat which I never posted up, a really glorious group harmony record that many of you will definitely enjoy
  24. I'll swap you Lockes Theme for it
