Seriously? I'd have thought only American on original. And they were manufacturing those in 1975 because some of them adapted the sleeve to include a sticker saying "Includes the hit I'm Your Pimp" despite it not being issued as a 45. Those were being sold up to as late as 1978 for around £5.

Was the "The Wheel" documentary released on DVD anyone know? It came out in 2012 I think. I"ve not seen it for sale. IF anyone can point me in the direction of a copy I'd be grateful.

Rita & The Tiaras - Gone With The Wind "official Re-Issue"?
Pete S replied to a topic in Look At Your Box
I think that lookalike at the top was done by Joe Boy Records so it's totally legit as they had the rights at the time. p.s. I've got a destiny demo and issue and can't hear any problems -
What? That's not even a real record!

BACK WHERE THEY BELONG A couple of weeks ago, I bought an old mate’s record collection and while going through the reissues section I saw stacks of things that I used to love, and have on vinyl, and it got me thinking that I ought to actually keep a few of these for myself. So please find here for your listening pleasure, my ‘lost’ records come home again, and wow do they make for a fantastic set, if you’re not into Wigan oldies I wouldn’t even bother listening because only about 5 are post-Wigan but for those who do remember those times, these were some of the best records ever played at any venue, let alone the Casino. JAY D. MARTIN — BY YOURSELF THE SALVADORS — STICK BY ME BABY JEAN CARTER — LIKE ONE SHANE MARTIN — I NEED YOU FRED SMITH ORCHESTRA — THE SAME OLD THING THE TOMANGOES — I REALLY LOVE YOU THE SERVICEMEN — I NEED A HELPING HAND BETTY BOO — SAY IT ISN’T SO THE VAN DYKES — SAVE MY LOVE FOR A RAINY DAY THE MATTA BABY — DO THE PEARL GIRL LOU EDWARDS — TALKIN’ BOUT POOR FOLKS SEVEN DWARFS — STOP GIRL THE DEL LARKS — JOB OPENING DEAN PARRISH — DETERMINATION THE FOUR PERFECTIONS — I’M NOT STRONG ENOUGH POINTER SISTERS — SEND HIM BACK LESLIE UGGAMS — DON’T YOU EVEN CARE SAM WILLIAMS — LOVE SLIPPED THROUGH MY FINGERS GEORGE BLACKWELL — CAN’T LOSE MY HEAD LOU RAGLAND — I TRAVEL ALONE MARGARET MANDOLPH — SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL THE MASQUERADERS — HOW JOE MATTHEWS — AIN’T NOTHING YOU CAN DO DON THOMAS — COME ON TRAIN BARBARA LEWIS — THE STARS FRANKIE (LOVE MAN) CROCKER — TON OF DYNAMITE THE CHANDLERS — YOUR LOVE MAKES ME LONELY LILLIE BRYANT — MEET ME HALFWAY BOBBY HUTTON — LEND A HAND THE NATURAL FOUR — I THOUGHT YOU WERE MINE BARBARA McNAIR — YOU’RE GONNA LOVE MY BABY TOMMY NAVARRO — I CRIED MY LIFE AWAY TOBI LEGEND — TIME WILL PASS YOU BY https://www.mixcloud.com/mayfairmenthol/northern-soul-back-where-they-belong/

Exactly the reason that other people said they wouldn't post their opinions as they would meet with a hostile reception. I still want to know why the records were pitched up so much.
-
One just now said that it was too depressing, that people went to venues to enjoy themselves but nobody at the all nighters were doing so. Girls fashions were wrong. Stuff like that. Chap I spoke to yesterday said he thought Soulboy was better.
-
I've spoken to a few people last few days who absolutely hated it but won't come on and say so in case they get some stick. Which is a shame. Not that they hated it, but that they won't come on. I liked it.

How much should I ask for a Blue Rock copy of Big Frank & The Essences - I Won't Let Her See Me Cry. Visually VG+, some marks and scuffs, plays with one or two background pops but nothing serious. Bit of ring wear to raised part of label. Also have Eugene Smiley & The Essence Of Love - Yes It's You on K-City demo VG++ little crackle on the intro otherwise EX. Definitely not my cup of tea this record but interested to know what to ask for it. cheers.

I got a copy of this yesterday but haven't had chance to price it up yet along with the rest of them, I"ll try and have a proper look later if you still need the record

Thank you, I'll announce it on here...

It is, there's no way this came out in 1964, whoever says so

Just A Thought On This Old Sam Spin From 78" The Camp
Pete S replied to Speedlimit's topic in Look At Your Box
Steve, the Marching record is the backing track to a Val Simpson track though, background vocals and all. You can hear her voice 'leaking' into the instrumental -
I have used it mate. I'm just not a big ebay user anymore

As if by magic, someone emailed me about 11.30 and I now have 200 originals to sell next week...

Don't think that cane be true mate, this is definitely 66, they wouldn't have known to nick that Satisfaction riff in 64

Yeah it is so boring. Take photos, edit photos, upload photos, yawn....

Am just uploading these onto Discogs, I have about 350 to do altogether, please check back as I will be uploading all day today - biggest collection of 'original' 70's pressings etc I've seen in years...some of these are scarcer than the originals nowadays! https://www.discogs.com/seller/pete.smith/profile?genre=Funk+%2F+Soul I forgot to mention that I have a full list of all of the USA (and UK) reissues on an Excel spreadsheet if anyone wants it. UK has lots of Grapevine's etc. Drop me a line if you want it pete.smith@freeuk.com

Audio Lathe was a home studio run by a guy in the States, I used to get stacks of things cut by him, still have some Audio Lathe labels he sent me...last ordered around 2003.

Big topic about it here. Appears on white garage compilations nowadays.

My new website should be opening this weekend and I'll be inviting people to sell their records on there, they can give me the records, they will stay on there until sold (or requested back), will cost them nothing to list and I'll take the usual commission but everything is set up so people don't have to do any work at all. Have a look at this, it's nearly ready, most of the drop down menus are working etc https://www.rare-soul.com/wordpress/

There's reasons why people don't want to do it themselves though Dave, mainly because of the pitfalls caused by certain customers, ebay etc. Can you imagine how long and how much effort it would take someone to sell 500 records by themselves when they have no experience of it? If you give me a record to sell, it goes on my list, gets seen by 1000 people, then it goes on soul source, seen by another 1000, then it goes on facebook, seen by several thousand, then it goes on Discogs, seen by how many? All takes time, and lots of people just don't have that time. But of course you are right about one thing, if you sell yourself you're 20% better off, but that 20% does include a fair bit of work.

I don't think I know Aaron but I always read his comments on auctions etc and he knows what he's talking about.
