  1. You don't take cards do you Warren?
  2. Humphrey Stomp not that rare on an issue. Bloody rare on Wand though.
  3. Don't forget that the reissue is also on 77 records with a different design...
  4. Love Power has the same backing track as The Sandpebbles version doesn't it? Or was it The Precisions. Or both.
  5. A friend writes... Kama Records was based in Houston, Texas and was owned by Sam & Nancy Coplin They are divorced, no contact ....She stll lives there as he did last time we spoke .. he was having a heart op & i've not heard from him since Their office overlooked the Stemmons Express Way .. one of the major roads .. and the group took their name from there There were a few releaes on the label but Sam described them as rock things .. so I guess we'd call them garage ... he had nothing left He says that he wrote he tune .. he had never ever heard of the Precisions, Drew Records & had no knowledge of the track being used on another recording ... it amused him The track was covered up as The Precisions - Look there she goes I can't recall exactly but I think they were a white group .. might need to check that
  6. Sounds the opposite to me - the Precisions song is much weaker and the performance is lifeless. Though I heard Stemmons first.
  7. "Many will be originals, you will need to make a decision based on the photo." https://cgi.ebay.com/RUFUS-WOOD-ESPANOLA-Be...tem180057140452
  8. What a liar. He was really trying it on "LET ME STRESS THAT THIS IS NOT A RE-PRESS OR BOOTLEG - IT HAS ALL THE STAMPS NEEDED TO PROVE THIS!!!"
  9. Definitely mate. I used to see you there practically every week around that time, remember?
  10. The one I've got on the label is a garage record John but I still can't find it or remember the name of the group!
  11. What's "pop" about it? I can't hear any pop qualities at all. It's a brilliant northern soul record.
  12. I thought my first was Dancing In The Streets by Martha & The Vandellas on Tamla Motown reissue in 1969 but I bought You Ain't Livin' Until You're Lovin' by Marvin & Tammi and that must have been 1968. The very last one I bought was Betty Bibbs on Kent for 99cents n.b. I would have had absolutely no idea that it was a 'soul' record, I just bought records I heard on the radio when it was my birthday or christmas etc
  13. We know Walk Proud And Pretty over here mate, it was played at Wigan circa 76...you may wish to rethink that price. On the other hand, you may not.
  14. Yeah I love Slade...coming from where I do you can't not like them really, if you were growing up at the time. I saw Dave Hill in my local post office earlier this year!
  15. I'm sure there are mate but this is the same label as Stemmons Express, having previously owned it on that label, ner-ner
  16. Still not showing and it's been 4 hours now since I sent it up. Is this normal for the first upload??
  17. I am serious mate, honestly...ask anyone!
  18. This doesn't help you with your question Dave but I've got another record on Karma, it's only the second I've seen, but I'm sure that the address on the label is in L.A.!
  19. OK all sold now, thanks very much, I'm off to buy a giant pie with the proceeeds
  20. Oh, ok. I've actually never heard that expression before!
  21. Very late 77, early 78, used to have a tape of the very first play of this at Wigan and it was January 78. This record absolutely p*sses on The Precisions.
  22. Yeeeeesssss!! John Manship says I got something right. I'm going to take the afternoon off now and feast on jelly and blancmange
  23. Didn't even know this existed! p.s. can you get me any David Bowie records with pic sleeves, pre-1977???
  24. Sold Bob's Band and Bobby Hutton so if anyone wants the Martha Reeves for £85 that's what I'll take for it
  25. blooming heck, I've sold it
