  1. I've never been offered one or had one Phil, very hard to find record
  2. Jock I saw this when it was first broadcast and I know I missed the end because I had to go and get the last bus from my girlfriends house, so this means that it was definitely not on on a saturday (when I'd have stopped over), it was either a sunday or early weeknight.
  3. Must have been a bootleg then cos you're looking at at least £400
  4. I know, and I think you almost agreed with me which was another reason why I was a little confused
  5. Who is saying anything about Northern records having to be fast and have breaks? You. Some of my favourite ever Northern records, Sherlock Holmes - Standing at a standstill, Natural Four, Joe Douglas etc - love to see people doing stupid acrobatics to those...'soul music' like Hamilton Movement leaves me stone cold, but so what, why should you worry about what I and other people like and don't like and come on here and spout off about it as if you're the Lord Of The Dance just leave people alone because your opinion means absolutely f*ck all to anyone except yourself. It's really annoying when certain people come on here and define soul by their own terms and if other people don't agree with it they are somehow inferior or 'dinosaurs' or whatever.
  6. Yeah so am I
  7. I understand that Chalky and I know some terrible records were played, but to say half of the output was crap just isn't right. 5% maybe.
  8. AH I see. Hadn't seen your earlier posts.
  9. Yeah I thought he was great, and really enjoyed the film, just found some of the dialogue a bit tricky to hear
  10. I respect your opinion but find it totally forgettable. I have no idea how it goes despite listening to it yesterday apart from a corny spoken intro.
  11. It needed subtitles for half of James Brown's lines
  12. Well it was part of a 3 hour compilation...and was very hard to find
  13. There's a review I did of this somewhere. The bit I enjoyed the most was the girls line dancing. I used to put this on the old VHS compilations back in the 90's.
  14. Stands to reason, if someone sees a record going for big bucks, they try to get the same, strike while the iron is hot
  15. Massive Discogs Update https://www.discogs.com/seller/pete.smith/profile all Northern
  16. I've seen that article before, someone else must have cut it out of the paper because I'm sure I saw it on Ebay, years ago
  17. Well how can you say half the records played at Wigan were crap if you didn't go? How do you know they were played there? By all means say a record is crap but don't try and tarnish it with the old Wigan brush. Do you want me to go to a venue where this Hamilton Movement is playing just so I can come home and say, yep, still crap?
  18. It's just another nothing record like a lot of these are, might be rare but quality wise, sounds like £5's worth.
  19. TWO FOR SALE: THE LIBERTY BELLES - SHING A LING TIME / JUST TRY ME - SHOUT (EX) Now getting played and even £20 off on Jayboy! £40 CAROLYN CRAWFORD - FORGET ABOUT ME / DEVIL IN HIS HEART - MOTOWN WHITE DEMO (EX) Possibly my all time favourite Motown release on a stunning WD. £60 cheers Pete
  20. Just sold one for £125 last week. Never had the rarer version.
  21. You were right first time :-)
  22. This really was massive, especially as a reactivated oldie, 78/79
  23. Didn't even know this existed, cheers
  24. Did you go?
