  1. I had a copy of the "Cracked Up" one on here recently...didn't sell..put it on Ebay and it sold for about 40 quid to a fine upstanding gentleman who posts on here.
  2. Don't think there is a boot - most copies you see are Canadian as it was a hit there, orange label black lettering...not a rare record anyway but that looks like a nice copy
  3. I don't want her - jackie opel - rio (uk) 13815 refosoul
  4. Yeah but you happen to live in America...not many soul records lying around in Wolverhampton nowadays
  5. Did you ever hear the Treasure Isle dub albums Tone? They used the 'best' version on that...absolutely fantastic even as a dub.
  6. I'm really disappointed with the last couple of posts in this thread, we're supposed to be encouraging people onto the scene, not driving them away. If he wants to play pressings, let him play pressings, it's got f*ck all to do with anyone else, no wonder outsiders think of NS as an elitist movement.
  7. I like it as well...
  8. It was going for 175 quid but nowadays, 125 I should think
  9. I see they've bootlegged Gene Toones and a few others now...
  10. More Wood (Put Wood In The Fire) - jackie opel - ska beat (uk) 13798 refosoul Refosoul Rare and Northern Soul Clip library Sorry this is the only Jackie Opel 45 I have left - not exactly soul, but a belting ska number and quite rude as well in a fun kind of way...love the very last line...
  11. I dunno, it just doesn't seem right not playing vinyl Matt! Me - personally - I don't care. I only go out to chat and drink beer. I've been to 3 Prestatyns and not danced once! I danced for about 2 hours at Stoke 2 years ago...think that was the last time..
  12. Not my cuppa tea I'm afraid...
  13. Reason I didn't post it is because all though I've got it on island, it crackles badly throughout and I didn't want to post anything I hadn't got on 45, hence no cd recording
  14. Dover records for the first, New Orleans Hot Line label....then there was Hot Line Music Journal (Bell) and then I think the one you are on about is a third Hot Line label. So to sum up, I don't know.
  15. Moving Away - ken boothe - coxsone 13782 refosoul
  16. I've really enjoyed contributing to this thread today, been nice to get the chance to actually play a few records, I hope that people have enjoyed some of the stuff that myself and the other guys have sent up, it does make a nice change to hear something a bit different now and again, if we can gain converts to the cause all the better!
  17. Yeah but if you just wanted a pint and a chat, wouldn't matter would it??? It's just background music...
  18. To Sir With Love - suzette (dawn penn) - wirl Refosoul Rare and Northern Soul Clip library
  19. Mark My Word - marcia griffiths - studio one 13778 refosoul
  20. Did we not agree that minor local nights, didn't matter what you played, bigger venues, originals only?
  21. I Miss You - the heptones - ashanti (uk) 13777 refosoul
  22. Too Late To Turn Back Now - alton ellis - ackee (uk) 13776 refosoul Refosoul Rare and Northern Soul Clip library
  23. I've had 3 jamaican ones and they all have an awful mix with an electric guitar dubbed over the top, I presume the UK one is the one I posted here, I had to cut myself a dub of it of an import Greatest Hits cd to get the best version...I'd pay upwards of £100 for a UK one.
  24. When I posted this up a couple of years ago I was laughed off the site! Bastards...
