  1. Pah!
  2. His face on the front of Hoolifan looks like that of a monkey and has been messed about with so that you can't really recognise who it is, he looks like Gaz from Supergrass. Not only that, but the picture on the cover has been removed completely from the current publication and replaced with another one!
  3. The Otella thing is a girl group record, too fast really, I sold one about 4 weeks back for £30
  4. It was definitely Newcastle v Chelsea and it looked like the old St james park to me...can't really see three rogue Chelsea fans going solo into the home end
  5. best not go there malc, we had this 6 months back when I complained about someone charging me 2.50 for standard first class and several people thought it was fair for folks to charge for their time let alone the postage. I charge 1.80 to 2.00 for first class recorded though when people buy off my list I charge 1.50 for first class recorded
  6. Two posts and you think you own the site, good start
  7. I have no problem with you or anyone else getting their money back, of course I don't, you've been stiched up and there has to be recomopense for that - I just don't like my quotes being taken out of context and used as an example of someone saying you shouldn't get your money back, he could have quoted half a dozen sentences on this thread saying it might be time to put it to bed as far as this forum goes but he chose mine so yes I do have a problem with that.
  8. This postage stuff really bugs me. I bought a record off here from someone, charged me 50 quid, plus 2 quid postage, when I got it it was a bootleg so I sent it back, he refunded my money and the original 2 quid postage but not the second 2 quid it cost me to return it, why should I be out of pocket because someone doesn't know what a bootleg of detroit Soul looks like? Yeah it's only 2 quid but it's the principal.
  9. You would never get £300 for Dave Mitchell on the PS label, it might book at that but nobody will pay it. Having said that, it's a rare one alright, I've only seen one copy, one I bought off Nancy seven years ago.
  10. It was directed half-seriously to Joey who kept going on about it so stop your whinging
  11. You can listen to it on the site by pressing the button and record it directly using Freecorder...I guess you can download it but it would take ages, I'll test it
  12. Did you just say you would charge 15 quid postage? Obviously I'm missing something here.
  13. I've got another northern one going up today Karen, top quality if I may say so myself :-)
  14. Thanks everyone, learn something off here everyday!
  15. If, just for a second, you remove all of the artists footage to one side, what you are left with is the best examination ever of the early years of Northern Soul up until around 1975, after that you can see levine lose interest after he leaves the Mecca behind and the following years are kind of rushed through. But come on, credit where it's due, to drive down to Temple Street just to film the street sign in the Catacombs section...to find all those old faces off the scene who were names heard of but not seen for 30 years. leave your bias at the door and watch it as a documentary not a Northern Soul karaoke show and you'll discover it is the best docuimentary on NS ever made, by a million miles.
  16. Little known fact is when they werestill the N-Betweens, they had a residency in the Bahamas where they played back up for a US female soul group called The Twans!
  17. I dunno, the fact you got paid means he obviously has the best intentions?
  18. Yes but Human League appeal to the kind of people who listen to daytime radio, and besides, they were better than Tavares! And what are you talking about - Jonathan Kings version of IOTAM beat Tavares to the shops but their subsequent singles had massive airplay. The more commercial the record, the more airplay it's going to get. And to compare Status Quo and Slade to the Bay City Rollers is the same as comparing Leee John to Bobby Womack. There was tons of soul music in the charts in the 70's, massive massive amounts. What on earth are you complaining about.
  19. It's called pop music, don't know if you ever heard of it, was very big in the 60's and 70's, they don't have to grease palms, it's what half the population was buying. And to call Slade crap is f*cking herecy.
  20. Yes but it was. Except for the drugs. E's are miles better.
  21. If I'd just got my money back I think I'd be pleased about the fact I got it and leave it at that
  22. I found a picture of her Dad...
  23. Just wondered if anyone bothered listening to this?
