  4. Land Of Love - pete antell - bounty 15600 refosoul
  5. Here's the soundclip
  6. Dunc I think that did come out on UK issue...I'm sure I've had it...will investigate
  7. yes that was a big record for him in the UK, came out on Unity, quite a few versions of the backing track as well...it's 2 years later than the one I posted which was a long time in Jamaican circles in those days, music changed from rocksteady to reggae
  8. Of which Del, the stuf on this thread or on the podcasts or wot..tell me and I'll knock something together for you
  9. I agree with this statement. Very soulful but rocksteady at the end of the day.
  10. I didn't think R & B / Ska Beat did any demos, this even looks a little like a Pye demo from the period, anyone seen these before - are there any more?
  11. There was an absolute beauty on Ebay last week, I think it was from Dominican Republic or somewhere similar, sung in Spanish by a girl - really raw midtempo tune, I nearly bought it but because it wasn't sung in English, I didn't bother, quite regret it now.
  12. Just found this again - well worth a listen! (To the Slim Smith track in the first post I mean)
  13. I kind of agree with Mark, in the 60's Capitol marketed him as a black Andy Williams type for a good while. I think he's got a great voice but certainly a lot of his material was MOR
  14. Drifter's about five times rarer...name your price really, anything from 125 to 250
  15. Firstly, I had a Dean Parrish demo not so long back and I struggled to sell it. Secondly, I personally don't rate the Tobi legend demo at more than £150. And thirdly, that lookds like an original demo to me, the bootleg is shinier than that and the print is not so well definied, just going by the picture obviously.
  16. Does anyone know if realplayer keeps an archive of clips played - if so, where?
  17. I remember bidding on that, the seller had loads of acetates I remember. I downloaded the clips but not sure if kept them
  18. PETE ANTELL - LAND OF LOVE - BOUNTY DEMO - MINT CONDITION. Brilliant newie - hear it on my beat ballads podcast, second track in I think. £200.
  19. Sure someone answered this earlier in the week, the boot is really flexible, thats the best way of explaining, so if you've got a bendy record (like I have)...tough luck unfortunately
  20. I think they have been overwhelmed by the trousers. Actually there's a sad tale about those trousers, I got kicked by a policeman after a Wolves match - for no reason whatsoever, I was walking in the wrong direction apparently - and I went over and they were ripped, and had to be binned.
  21. Only found this last night. Brown leather bomber jacket and pin striped baggies. Height of fashion back in 1976.
  22. Just turned up SAMANTHA JONES - SURROUNDED BY A RAY OF SUNSHINE - UA DEMO EX 50 SWEET NOTHINGS - CRY BABY CRY - DESTINATION DEMO EX+ 100 Super-rare white demo, great Stafford spin ANITA BRYANT - MY MIND'S PLAYING TRICKS ON ME AGAIN - COLUMBIA MINT 40 Monster beat ballad..arranged by the guy who did The Drifter, Arnold Goland THE HIGH & THE MIGHTY - ESCAPE FROM CUBA - ABC DEMO EX 30 This is the reflections - came out on UK HMV
  23. Yeah, I'm gutted about losing my hair, but having seen me haircut in a lot of those old photos, I think I might be better off! Pudding basin on a slant.
  24. Probably not...but amazing that this exists! That's me and you in 1963..
