-
Spine Tingling Record
yes that was a big record for him in the UK, came out on Unity, quite a few versions of the backing track as well...it's 2 years later than the one I posted which was a long time in Jamaican circles in those days, music changed from rocksteady to reggae
-
Spine Tingling Record
Of which Del, the stuf on this thread or on the podcasts or wot..tell me and I'll knock something together for you
-
Spine Tingling Record
I agree with this statement. Very soulful but rocksteady at the end of the day.

Never Seen One Of These On Uk Before
I didn't think R & B / Ska Beat did any demos, this even looks a little like a Pye demo from the period, anyone seen these before - are there any more?
-
foreign Jonnies
There was an absolute beauty on Ebay last week, I think it was from Dominican Republic or somewhere similar, sung in Spanish by a girl - really raw midtempo tune, I nearly bought it but because it wasn't sung in English, I didn't bother, quite regret it now.

Spine Tingling Record
Just found this again - well worth a listen! (To the Slim Smith track in the first post I mean)

Lou Rawls ...see You When I Git There...in Demand
I kind of agree with Mark, in the 60's Capitol marketed him as a black Andy Williams type for a good while. I think he's got a great voice but certainly a lot of his material was MOR

Ray Pollard
Drifter's about five times rarer...name your price really, anything from 125 to 250

Three Before Eight
Firstly, I had a Dean Parrish demo not so long back and I struggled to sell it. Secondly, I personally don't rate the Tobi legend demo at more than £150. And thirdly, that lookds like an original demo to me, the bootleg is shinier than that and the print is not so well definied, just going by the picture obviously.

Another Two To Identify
Does anyone know if realplayer keeps an archive of clips played - if so, where?
-
Another Two To Identify
I remember bidding on that, the seller had loads of acetates I remember. I downloaded the clips but not sure if kept them

Birdwalkin
Sure someone answered this earlier in the week, the boot is really flexible, thats the best way of explaining, so if you've got a bendy record (like I have)...tough luck unfortunately

I think they have been overwhelmed by the trousers. Actually there's a sad tale about those trousers, I got kicked by a policeman after a Wolves match - for no reason whatsoever, I was walking in the wrong direction apparently - and I went over and they were ripped, and had to be binned.- Fashion Victims
