  1. I think the price guides are invaluable but I use them mainly for tracking down the records, not pricing them. And the point is, they are called GUIDES yet they aren't used as guides, they're used as gospel
  2. It's actually on Columbia. Beryl Marsden was also in the band.
  3. It's not that I've got a thing about it, it's just you mention it so many times! No offence intended, honestly.
  4. What would you do without the aid of Manship's book or website?
  5. Kinnell, the other day someone didn't like Slade, you don't like the Carpenters, you're all f*cking mad, The Carpenters are absolutely brilliant...
  6. I don't need to check anything on popsike and this is why record buying and collecting is so ridiculous at the moment, what hapened to the days when people stuck a price on a record using their own experience and skill? Popsike records auction prices, most of these bear no relevance to the correct selling price of the record. And then you've got people who won't sell a record until they've looked in Manships price guide. All the knowledge is going out of this business because of the likes of Ebay. These comments arent aimed at you by the way. But I don't need to look on popsike to know how much a record is worth.
  7. I don't want to spoil your sales list but I don't agree with that statement at all and I think it's way overpriced, especially as it's not even EX, if you'd have asked 400 it might have been nearer, if I had one in that nick it would be 150 quid at the most so why is 500 a pretty good price?
  8. Karl's right. Also, you have a good chance of getting an apology out of Phil Dick because he can be found in the freebasing room on the Conspiracies thread, and is now a born again Christian who will undoubtedly confess to any sins. Go for it.
  9. Sounds so great played out loud...as does John E Paul "I wanna know"
  10. Yawn
  11. Neither do I. The problem with that one in particular is that it was used by hundreds of mobile DJ's across the land as their theme tune - copying whoever used it on Radio Caroline.
  12. I like Along Comes Mary by Baja Marimba band...can't think of many div records I've got, honestly
  13. And you had to edit that post, which word couldn't you spell properly, "a"??
  14. If the cap fits...
  15. He could have golden slippers at that price
  16. Dollars or Pounds?
  17. Well thats is obviously very flawed as there were at least 3 copies of Darrell Banks last year including two from radio Bristol or somewhere like that. But my apologies, I obviously know f*ck all about UK labels, having only collected them for 20 years, written a price guide to them and put out 16 issues of a magazine dedicated to them
  18. Love to help but never heard of any of them!
  19. The best people to buy from in the States are the ones who use the Goldmine gradings because their VG+ is like our EX, sometimes better. Anyone in the Uk who lists a record as EX and it makes any noise whatsoever is having you on and it shouldn't be graded like that, unless they say EX apart from one click at the start. Nev I said times like these because it's harder now to sell records than it has been for 10 years, anyone who says it isn't does not know what they are talking about. It's a piece of piss to put a list out once a month, you try doing it every week or twice a week. And if you look at the quality of some of the records I've not been able to sell last few weeks, and at prices below the books - Harrison brothers, Bobby Sheen, Montclairs, TNJ's and so on..it is bad at the moment. Ask Mick Smith, he'll tell you the same. Ask keith Williams, he was on the verge of packing it up a few weeks ago.
  20. Looking at some of the sales on here...Whats with the VG/VG+ records at mint prices? I'd have thought in times like these - and it is tough going - people would be reducing prices not increasing them.
  21. Thats the green and white demo, in other words the demo of the late 60's reissue and it's priced twice as high as it should be
  22. Timi Yuro is rarer than darrell banks by a long cha;k, if you were to set out to find one of each, I guarantee you'll find the Darrell Banks first
  23. Gene my myopic pal, that looks amazingly like a post I made a few days ago in this very thread which said " Their first single was actually on Apple, a version of Give Peace A Chance, credited to the Hot Chocolate Band." great minds etc
