  1. Couldn't be bothered to check all 8 pages to see if this had been posted up, but this is way rarer on issue than it is on demo
  2. Jimmy Webb wrote a couple of other great Northern tunes - Don Ray Sampson - baby Come back, and The Contessas - I keep on Keepin On, both on the "E" label.
  3. I bought a copy recently and the chap I bought it off knew the history and the people who produced it, thought you might find this snippet of information interesting... Larry Allen was from Greensburg, PA. Jerry Reed, who owned the label, had 1000 copies pressed. 500 as Larry Allen and 500 as L. Allen. It was released in the fall of 1965. Jerry got frustrated because the record didn't sell and at the time he had an old car that he was junking, and he threw around 900 copies of the record into the trunk to be crushed and remelted.
  4. I got an email from Chcuk Bernard's daughter and both her and her dad were blown away by the fact there was some footage of him that I'd put on youtube. The impression I got was that she thought no-one had ever heard of him. If anyone wants to interview him about his recordings for Satellite, Zodiac, Brunswick, Maverick etc, I'll put you in touch.
  5. Maybe cos a lot of people only ever look at whats ending today...I do...it's the first time I see them a matter of hours before they end
  6. Looks great, I fancy a bit of that
  7. Thanks to gavin for the link, hope it's not been up already

  9. The only problem is pricing it though Sean, don't you think? If I stuck 50 quid on it I think that'd be about right. Won't sell, but I get to keep it!
  10. Actually these were done using a kind of din-plug (is that what they were called) so it's actually a line-in recording. There's another one, an hour long Petula Clark live special! bet thats worth something. To Pet Clark fans. (I really like here mid 60's Pye cuts but wouldn't say I'm a fan)
  11. No that photo is a bit deceptive on the haircut front, it's not a fringe, as this frightening one of me at school in 1975 shows!!! It's a good job we can laugh at ourselves now!
  12. Is the 4th one out??
  13. I've actually got a couple of lost TOTP episodes on reel to reel tape. My ex wife's dad recorded them for her. I can't remember any soul acts but one has Pink Floyd doing See Emily Play and another features a Swedish group called Ola & The Janglers! There's also a full episode of Crackerjack with musical guests the Love Affair and Don Partridge. Oh and I've got all those Mike Raven shows on reel to reel too. Different source mind.
  14. Talking of high waisted trousers - I'm second from the left, look at that waistband!
  15. Mananged to get through on the phone, their excuse this time was me forgetting february only had 28 days and also it took them 3 days after I started the claim to do something, so I was told to ring back on the 18th!
  16. Er, very great in my opinion. Bloke told me the sleeve as is rare as the record.
  17. Bejayzus!
  18. Just wondering...I made a claim on february 13th about some records I'd bought in mid january which never arrived (they still haven't arrived). I've asked them twice about progress but the paypal site is simply showing they are awaiting a reply from the seller. However, their website says up to 10 days for a seller to reply. So anyway, it's now over 30 days and they still appear to be doing nothing. Any ideas? Oh, and note that they have changed their phone menu so it is extremely difficult to speak to an operator.
  19. Only got 3 there, all by Oscar Perry, sorry!
  20. That is truly awful, so is the other one, and people have the nerve to slag of tailor mades like the Four vandals and venecia Wilson...
  21. definitely only one release on Col Soul. I saw a Colony 13 record on ebay last week or the week before, it was garage punk I think.
  22. LJ Johnson did Your magic put a spell on me, no wonder he sounds different to LJ reynolds
  23. I've found out the prices for postage to Europe and it does not make happy reading! Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg: £30.75 France, Germany, Denmark: £32.10 Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece: £35.10 Rest of Europe: £36.05 and thats by standard service, you should see the price for Priority!
  24. I've done something like 22 of these packs but thought posting all 22 at once would be overkill so I'll send up 3 or 4 at a time. If anyone from outside the UK is interested, I haven't priced up postage for abroad yet, sorry, but I'd guess at maybe 15 quid for Europe. Here are 50 mixed soul records - all originals as far as I know - Northern, Modern, R & B, ballads, doo-wop and anything else I've forgotten. The price is £55 for the 50 records. This includes delivery in the UK by parcel post. I have something like 22 of these packs ready and I will post them up for sale as soon as I finish typing out each one's contents. Condition - right across the range. Some are unplayed. Some are rough. The majority I would say will be VG+ and better. You will not be buying a pack with 5 nice condition records and 45 pieces of junk! Remember, you're paying just a quid apiece for these. Anyway, email or PM me if interested, cheers.
