I've never analized his vocal, it's a bostin' northern soul record and thats all thats important to me, whereas that crossover thing is just a non-event, dull and unmemorable
The bass line is fantastic, the rest of it sound slike the B side of a Real Thing record, there must be hundreds of records that sound just like this, I wouldn't pay 10p for it. No actually I would, then sell it to some mug.
Bit of a strange one this. When I first heard this stuff in, what, 1993? I thought it was utter rubbish. Then I listened to a show called One In The Jungle on friday nights and I started to really like it. What I think now is that the original jungle was the most exciting and innovative music produced in the Uk since punk and I still believe that. I'm not talking about drum & bass which I actually hate and find totally boring, but the original jungle records had amazing energy. In fact I just bought a couple on 12" - both classics..."valley of the shadows" and "terrorist". I expect much incoming flak for this but I don't care...we all have different tastes..
Maybe it's because I make my living from selling soul music - that's probably why I never listen to it when not 'working', apart from the occasional oldies cd for long journeys. If I wanted to get a kickstart to the morning I'd listen to this
You lot amaze me. You get up in the morning and listen to soul music? Are you not interested in the news, learn whats going on in the world? Maybe on a sunday morning..
Thanks mate, his Mom has took him down south to see her sister all week and it's the first time I've been without him since he was born, am finding it a bit strange and quite difficult. Keeping busy though..
Well this is for sale if anyone wants it. Of course you also get to find out who it is and what label it's on (cue some know all telling us within 2 minutes)
I agree. Better and cheaper than covers 33. I stopped ordering of covers 33 after using them every month for some 10 years and they never even bothered asking why, shows they don't give a toss. Rik at Tramiki is definitely the best guy in the business.
I personally think they are about 50/50 as far as issues/demos go - though the Marie Knight demo is rare. If you ask me what I'd sell the above for it'd be 80/125/100 but others will probably add 25 on top of those
Ooh sorry mate, it's not really on Dud Sounds, it just says "a division of dud sounds" on the label.
I really love this track!
