  1. Actually I've been called a half baked genius
  2. But I'm still seeing all UK entries on my search - it's on .com but has 'worldwide' ticked, I'm sure it's the same as it used to be
  3. Was he up-set?
  4. Yeah there was, I only bought this up because of the experiment I just did and the fact you could hear the result
  5. I actually have tried that Mark - well thats a lie - I put it in the oven - and ended up with a 14" splodge of plastic
  6. After listening to that, I think I might have underpriced it at 20 quid!
  7. So if you've got a record with an edge warp, this is what they sound like after the warp has been removed with an iron. This is bloody difficult though. The bargain Bobby Wells I bought off Mick Smith wouldn't play on my deck at all so there was only one thing for it - the steam iron. I covered it with a damp teatowel and then applied pressure until the plastic became flexible, then remove the towel and quickly press the vinyl into shape. Note, you'll burn your thumbs in this part of the process. Anyway, the end result is enclosed as a tiny mp3, it's not great but it does now play.
  8. But the only problem is - how do you get as many people who view your stuff on ebay, to view them on your website? And I've notices, if you add something onto your description such as "why not try my website at www.raresoul.co.uk" they then warn you that it is not site policy and make you remove it!!!
  9. I found that Chants record about 15 years ago and reviewed it to be met with a wall of indifference well I like it if no-one else does (apart from Martin)
  10. Can't find the thread but a couple of people were saying that they thought that because of the new charges, ebay would start to drop off. Well this weekend was totally useless, I think I won maybe 3 items as opposed to between 20 and 30 I usually win over a weekend. The quality of the records is now shocking, and there's just nothing to buy. Compared to usual. Is this because of the price hike or is it just the records running out?
  11. Er...no problem! I did this one a bit differently, without sorting them whatsoever, I pulled every record out at random and said to myself I'd play it, no matter what it was, thats why it starts with "Michael" by The COD's which I doubt has been played out since about 1965 and lives in everyone's under a fiver boxes
  12. It's more about making people aware of the event Karen, the might not go but they'll have heard of it and in future if anyone asks if they know about an event down that way, they'll be able to say they do...

  16. I've reopened it Jo, it's in freebasing
  17. One record that nearly make me cry through sheer awfulness, is that record about 9 million bicycles in beijing or something like that, whoever wrote that should be killed. That oletta adams record isn't far behind "you can get hear by railway...you can get here by trailway.." "caravan...arab man" of for goodness sake
  18. It's down to me getting one line wrong I don't mind other guys dancing with my girl That's fine, I know them all pretty well But I know sometimes I must get out in the light Better leave her behind with the kids, they're alright The kids are alright I thought it said Better leave THEM behind with the kids are alright which doesn't really mean anything
  19. I started one of those a few weeks back and got about 2 responses!
  20. Thats my favourite record by The Who but I must have heard it 1000 times and I still don't understand the lyrics.
  21. They are oldies to me, thats why I called them oldies ???
  22. He got run over and killed I think - Ernie I mean - couple of years ago
  23. I agree Jo, if I hear you play that dells record once more I'll start crying too
  24. But do any of these records actually make you cry? That was the question. We can all quote great heartbreaking records but to actually, physically cry when you hear them is another thing. Only It's An Uphill Climb To The Bottom could do that to/has done that to me (and the one I mentioned before)
