Well while we're at it we could try and patent some more of my crazy record inventions like using the dishwasher for cleaning them and ironing out warps with..an iron!

Bernadette Castro was bootlegged as a white Colpix demo on vinyl in pretty average sound quality. Quite a nice girly fingersnapper I think. Better than another one that was played at exactly the same time, Would She Do That For You (Mary Saenz)

£30 if anyone wants it

The subject was Bob Dylan and thats what we're discussing
-
It's alright saying he can write songs but he can't sing. He's never been able to sing. Which alienates people (well, me) straight away and makes me reach for the off button as soon as I hear his nasal whining. His radio shows are absolutely fantastic though - like you told us they would be. Genius.
-
Just remind me, weren't you the man who claimed that Syd Barrett was a better writer than Bowie after composing 2 decent songs and a bunch of nursery rhymes?
-
Have to agree about Lets Dance but Starman and Ziggy are classics and you can't discuss the merits of Dylans lyrics vs Bowie's because that would be like comparing say Oscar Wilde to L Ron Hubbard, totally different areas of writing. Dylans come up with some crackers too. Everybody must get stoned. He's sh*t.
-
Kinnell mate, I'm only pulling your leg (ouch!) I wouldn't play it out if it was the only record I;d got But I do like blues/r&b so just thought some folk might also like it
-
Issue is way rarer than the demo but I'd agree with Gene about the prices
-
Yes it is rhythm and blues but not quite in the context that it's used in NS circles, thats why I was asking if traditional blues sounds, if uptempo, are acceptable?
-
The question wasn't "would bearsy play this track" though was it
-
Possibly one of the worst songs ever written. Beg your pardon. Wrong song. The one I'm thinking about is the one about the 1st world war, 2nd world war, vietnam etc
-
Oh excuse me for having an opinion.
-
never leave my homework undone - little mac simmons - dud sound
-
What you reckon - a bit too much of a blues record to be played as R&B?

Stunning Footage Of Brenda Holloway From 1967
Pete S replied to Pete S's topic in All About the SOUL
I know, apparently when I get to 10,000 I get banned for life so there's something for you all to look forward to -
Found this in the Smiffy archives, I've never copied this for anyone so this should be a first time viewing for this clip. She also performed Just Look What You've Done on the same show, and that was on one of the legends Of rare Soul dvd's.
-
Thats weird because I double checked and it is definitely his number, Plympton, Plymouth, Devon. If I can extract some of his old emails I might be able to find something out.
-
Think I might have a result James, PM on the way
-
OK I'll try and find it James, not spoken to him for ages but he's a Wolves fan so he's ok...it'll be in an old address book though so not 100% sure I've still got it. Back in a minute.

Easiest way is just to get a normal on-centre record, place the off-centre on top if it, draw around the centre hole of the good one so you've got a mark to follow, then cut round that with a stanley knife (make sure a responsible adult is supervising). When you play the record you just move the centre adapter into the indentation you cut. Done this loads of times.
-
From Plymouth? If him, might have it
-
Higher start price but sweeten it by offering FREE copies of a self compiled CD featuring tracks owned by companies like Brunswick & RCA. Howveer it's worded, it can't be legal...can it? Makes no odd to me but don't think I'd stick my neck out like that. https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/RARE-Northern-Soul-7...1QQcmdZViewItem

Don't know about shamefully but it is bloody awful compared to Spyder Turner's version and just because it's an alternative version of something well known doesn't mean it should be inflicted on people. Nice reciord in it's own right but not in a N.S. context. In my opinion.
