  1. It was among those old soul pack records my brother gave me yesterday - played it, thought it was shit so stuck 15 quid on it!
  2. You know what I mean though. Checker, Cedric labels
  3. OK whats the deal with this Vipers record then, 6 requests for it in 90 minutes...
  4. I'll knock you 10 quid off if you do
  5. He's a well known Chicago soul person. Bound to be the same one.
  6. This record Bok To Bach. Well as far as I know there is no such thing as a BOK. And Bach was a classical composer. So therefore I suggest that the proper name of this track is in fact BARTOK TO BACH as Bartok was also a classical composer. Who's with me???
  7. Tone there's ana amzing deep soul track by Lee Moses on Musicor on that list I sent up earlier. Though I'm no connoisseur - I get bored after one chorus
  8. Just wondered if this had ever been played out. This label is a right mess isn't it, their numbering system is all over the place, they use several different logos and deisgns but they all look really amateurish...part of the attraction I guess. This has number C 3004 on one side and no number at all on the other side but has 3002 scratched in on the b side
  9. Job lot of records, £50, UK only, post paid. I've no idea about these, they are a mixture of 60's and 70's and to be honest I can't be bothered going through the books to find them so they can all go as one lot. All are mint. 12. Theres a link to it right above your post!
  13. Only heard this for the first time today, normally I wouldn't play anything on the Invictus label* but I don't know what they were doing with this one - it sounds like it's straight out of the 60's and I really like this...but it only books at £10! *nb I do love the old Chairmen of the Board records though
  14. my post above it tells you who did the other cover
  15. Yeah it's on a pretty scarce UK United Artists 45 and also on the LP Looking At Long John. Baldry must have been a Ray Pollard fan because he also covered the B side of The Drifter, Let Him Go And Let Me Love You, that's a pretty common UA single. Both versions are ok, but you can't really compare them to Pollard - and there's another version of Drifter by Don Crales, an Irish recording which came out on Parlophone, it's awful. Mick Smith's got an acetate of another version but without any artist credited
  16. That ones here as well. Can't believe they chucked 2 boxes away. They also threw away one of the first ever versions of Scalextrix with the old fashioned long type racing cars. That must have been worth a fortune, still in its box. Threw it down the tip.
  17. Thanks for the info Sebastian. Ever heard of "man from the ghetto" by family Affair on Authentic records? That was another one I couldn't find. There were two by them, one of them was listed at 15, don' think this was it
  18. My brother just gave me a load of records he found round his mom in laws, one of her sons had them in the 70's, anyway theres a couple of god ones but most are typical soul pack things from the 70's. Only one that I can't trace: Dale dennard - If you can live with yourself / Bullet - Coach 114. Not my sort of thing but quite a nice 70's midtempo sound, other side is funkier. Doubt if it's worth anything but thought I'd see if anyone had heard of it. p.s. there was a derek martin - if you go - sue in there, 4 voices, vipers, gene middleton on funk factory, eddie long etc. Worst thing is, my brother said he'd saved these for me but they threw another 2 boxes away before he got there
  19. Four Voices - We live in the ghetto / Summer kind of love - Voice mint copy, probably unplayed £100
  20. Ann Heywood - Crook His Little Finger - Hondo condition EX This is the scarcer yellow label issue £200 free registered postage PM if any interest, cheers Pete
  21. Cheers for that, I was just about to go and dig it out, saved me a bit of work. But please don't put the Roulette 45 up,it's a shocker!
  22. Sorry didn't get chance to reply to this yesterday. I also didn't know there was a boot on that design and I was chuffed with myself for picking one up off Ebay for 40 quid, I sold it for double that, but then a week later, another one appeared from a well known UK seller and he listed it as a second issue, which I bought for £15. I can't find it now, must have sold it as a pressing, but there was nothing but a scatched in number on the run off
  23. Is it one of the different versions or the one that came out?
  24. The sound of me farting through a loudspeaker would be brilliant compared to jimmy delphs dancin a hole.
