  1. Nice...
  2. How on earth is he meant to know you are a vegetarian???
  3. As far as I'm concerned. If I win records totalling almost £300 on ebay and the seller charges me £4 postage, I would have expected at least recorded delivery. They came this morning, 1st class standard, might even have been second class, not registered, not recorded, and get this - without even a return address on the back. If the seller's on here reading this I hope it gives you a kick up the arse.
  4. For f*cks sake, I never said he was Irish, I said it was recorded in Ireland! Have a look at the credit on the B side...I haven't seen it for a dozen or more years but I'm sure it says so-and-so studios, Ireland
  5. Well he recorded it in his studio in Ireland...check the label...by the way you know I meant Charles, it's trying to type to fast!
  6. Oh I dunno, I reckon this is worth 25 quid, it's a great track
  7. Not the same version as the one on the LP though
  8. UPDATED
  9. This counterfeit is rare, it came out just before the styrene boot with the same design in early 1976. There's another boot which makes no attempt to copy any of the labels, pale blue with the label name at the top and one sided if I remember correctly. Also there's a yellow one...
  10. Sorry to disagree. I struggled to get £125 for a demo last year, in fact it went for something much lower when I put it on ebay after no-one bought it, I'd rate it £175 tops, the issue is rare but no more than £250
  11. No it's totally blank mate. I am sure I printed a picture of this in one of the earliest editions of Beatin Rhythm around 1988/89
  12. Yes I've seen the Mary Love Dave, it's a one off but it's not that interesting, it's just plain white labels both sides and the titles/artist were filled in by the record's owner (Mick Smith) when he got them off Rita & Benny when they sold up at the end of the 70's. For instance, if you got a normal King copy and took the label off you might as well say you'd got a black label test pressing! Re your Watts 103rd street question, I think all this is explained in the Kent Mirwood cd(s) sleeve notes
  13. If anyone wants this copy, as pictured on the first message in this thread, it's £50

  15. I've still got it but it's not for sale...n.b. I posted the original message up in january!
  16. Not always - sometimes there's just no reference points - I also got done with the same record and I'd never seen it in 30+ years. I may have also unwittingly sold one of these in the past as an original. Give you another example - got a copy of Johnny Sayles - My Loves A Monster - looks to all intents and purposes like an original, besides, surely not rare enough to bootleg - but something just isn't quite right about it. No reference to it in the bootleg guide though.
  17. No I sold most of them I'm afraid. I still have many of the first section (the non Island ones) but I'm keeping them. I've about 100/150 islands left and a fair few other things but it would take a while to get them all listed
  18. Dunno about a truce, I'm just having a laugh Malc, hence the laugh icons after each sentence!
  19. Oh come on Malc you are just making this up as you go along can just imagine the scene at Wigan..."Hey you know that astronomer, what was his name, oh yes of course, Bok" to which everyone looks back blankly then runs off for fear of being cracked up
  20. I've got a record on Baf by "Barry Window"...probably known to no-one except Tony Rounce
  21. What utter rubbish
  22. Got a copy of this album for sale if any interest
  23. Not bad - not great - somewhere inbetween...I do like the fact that it kicks off with a stand-up bass though...will post it up if I get chance
