I really like the Samantha Jones record. Not in any NS sense, it's just a great song. Little Lisa, the song is terrible but the backing track is great.

I'd take Green Door over Carstairs any day - in fact I'd rather hear Shakin Stevens sing It Really Hurts Me Girl than Carstairs - I had one a couple of weeks ago for £50, someone bought it, unlike the last one which I smashed with a hammer (and sent proof up). Pile of sh*t. As is Magic Night.

Updated. Pretty bizarre this, I had ann heywood on my list last week and it didn't ge a bite, got 4 calls for it today, when I said I had it last week, they all said they never noticed it!

Yes I made several on a computer using a program called the Amazing Slow Downer, the rest were made by other people using exactly the same program and you'll be able to find, somewhere on this site, an old post from containing one of these which says "I bet in years to come these will return to haunt us" or words to that effect. The amazing slow downer can alter voices without changing the pitch of the record, and viceversa.

Because it's utter, utter rubbish. Awful song and an abysmal vocal performance. It's just terrible.

No Malc, definitely a Searling discovery/spin, I have recorded evidence of this. I also have him playing Gary Lewis & The Playboys but so did many others!

I like the Judith Durham record! Not as a Northern record or anything, it's just got a nice tune with some excellent chord changes and a lovely vocal. Worst record ever played on the scene has to be The Carstairs - It Really Hurts me Girl.

Not saying there's anything wrong with the record - just that it is a bizarre record to put in an auction

Last week I expressed my surprise that John Manship had put this in his auction because, simply, it's not in the slightest bit rare. It went for something like £90 when it could have been bought off me in excellent condition for £15 or £20. So I thought I'd stick it on ebay and see if there was a demand for it. After 5 days, 1 bid, £9.99, 3 watchers.
