  1. Paradox on Polydor - take off the fuzz guitars at the start and you've got a good little instrumental.
  2. No but you paid 100 quid too much for it
  3. Northern soul IS about dance music. And of course instrumentals can be soul music. You think not? What is the enclosed mp3 if it's not soul then? Jr._Walker_and_The_All_Stars___What_Does_It_Take__To_Win_Your_Love__instrumental_.mp3
  4. Can you imagine someone sitting down to measure the depth of emotion in "Ton Of Dynamite" I think it's one of the greatest records ever, but it's an utter mess, but maybe that's why it's so great...I'd rather just listen to something and see what effect it has on me and make my own mind up - this is why I hate people telling me there's something wrong with me for not liking non-60's soul...
  5. Before you read the info below, I've decided to put this lot to bed for good and I don't just mean the 4 main northern soul documentary discs, I'm doing 15 dvd's as one lot and they include those below plus things like Teen Town, Soul A GoGo, Coast To Coast, The TAMI Show, Ray Pollard live, Curtis Mayfield Omnibus, so if interested pm me and I'll send you the full details. The Beat and Night Train sets are not included but can be. I keep getting pm's asking about these so honestly, last time out for these DVD's then they go to the retirement home for old discs. There are 4 discs, the first 3 contain just about every tv piece, news item and documentary ever shown on the subject of Northern Soul from 1977 to 2004. The 4th disc is a compilation of footage shot at various allnighters including London 100 club, Bradford, Leicester, RSG etc. All that stuff you've seen on YouTube more than likely came from this collection. In total there's something like 11 hours worth of footage here. Some of the shows featured are listed below. If you're interested, just PM me. 6. Well thats what it's meant for - to dance to, not to be sat down and listened to for it's finesse
  7. Nor me. Most of it is just boring music. Fantastic vocals but so what.

  11. Trev I've got a lee fields record on my list elsewhere on the site (posted today), dunno if it's the right one though, it's on a label called Bedford?
  12. Skullsnaps is a tough record, I had one listed on here 4 weeks back, sold it, but I hadn't had one for ages before, not on US\anyway, had a few UK copies
  13. It's a really good one this Eddie, hope you enjoy it...
  14. That one was available from (at least) 1976 - might have been earlier, dunno, but I bought one in 76!
  15. Must have been Mick Smith cos I had it from him - was about 250 quid, sold it for 400 I think, can't remember who to exactly but I can take a good guess - same person who bought my Sam Williams, Monique etc
  16. Easier to tell from the colouring on the back rather than the pattern on the front
  17. Dunno - when I click it it automatically starts playing through quick time - perfect quality
  18. I sold a cracked copy of Mr Lucky for £2500 so do I get second place?
  19. Can't be that rare, I've had a copy! Actually, Ted, if you're reading this, did you sell a copy which had the right label on the a side and a photocopy label on the b side? If so, thats the one I had.
  20. que Darn sight cheaper off me mate...but anyway, heres your request Marvin_Gaye_and_Kim_Weston___It_Takes_Two_instrumental_.mp3
  21. A bit different to the version that came out as Livin In Love by Sheila Anthony - that was uptempo - this version is fantastic and obviously the one that the Phyllis Dillon version was based on
  22. Where on earth did you get the fanzines from? I didn't have any copies myself until a very kind gentleman supplied me with some, and I still don't have them all. You ought to try and find some of the later ones because they get funnier as they go on, by funnier I mean the reviews are more forthright Oh Mary is a great track...think I might still have a copy of that...I sold over 150 Islands earlier this year
