  4. Whats it to you if I like a David Bowie record? If you asked me to pick one or the other to take with me to a desert island I'd pick Space Oddity as a rock selection and some other northern record as a soul selection. Doesn't mean I don't "appreciate" northern soul. Have you ever heard one of my rare northern podcasts, they p*ss on almost anything else you'll ever hear. or would you like to tell me exactly what I should like and what I should listen to?
  5. Not by us Una but if you know those, you may also know Simon, Winston, Des - all fantastic dancers - Pete Ricketts is on the Wigan documentary shuffling, you never see his face but on the outtakes you do, incredible dancer. Think he died a few years back, I'd like to be told differently though
  6. I did, every monday in the early 80's but it wasn't a soul night it was a Bowie/Roxy type thing and Mike was long gone. Apart from Saturdays when he was on and would slip in Youngblood Smith or Too Late to the shock of half the people and delight of the the other half. It's now a Harvester restaurant
  7. No this was a late one - it was done after it had already been released on Grapevine and it hadn't been done by the time I stooped going to Wigan which was end of summer 78 - same as the Pointer Sisters on Atlantic, bootlegged on Wright Sounds in 77, the other two Atlantic boots didn't come til much later

  10. Keep emailing you but it gets bounced back mate
  11. God no, it's sh*t
  12. I think it was Keith Minshull who played it first - as Warren said, at exactly the same time as Tim Tam and James Coit. I think he originally played Tim Tam as a joke as he originally dedicated it to Lewi (this one specially for Lewi - just asked me for it) who was a regular (from Runcorn or Warrington I think) and no doubt hated it
  13. Problem is, there's so many grands wort of records there that very few people are in the position to be able to buy them as a job lot. I'd love them as they'd keep me going for the next couple of months. So if anyone wants to front me the money, I'll pay them back in full and give them 20% of the profits
  14. Definitely one of the toughest UK Motown demos - actually the issue is very rare too
  15. It never came out on Brunswick...you thinking of something else?

  17. I got yours in less than a week mate, no complaints from me
  18. No, it is an out and bootleg. If it were a copy of the date label it would actually be a 'pirate' copy, in other words, a lookalike.
  19. Oh Paul do stop being so holier than thou, you big holier than thou-er
  20. It's a discussion site, if you don't want to read discussion about records then join another forum. Most of these records auctioned go for ridiculous prices and it's logical that people will want share experiences of selling those particular records.
  21. I haven't heard that for 33 years since they issued it as the follow up to The Night (reissue follows reissue). Not bad at all. Didn't remember it though.
  22. I've only once been able to get 300 quid for it and I've had 3 copies - truly great record but never any takers. had to let them go at 250.
  23. Neither of which have the address at the bottom.
  24. Johnny Moore 'walk like a man', Sweet Things 'I'm in a world of trouble' are another two...I think The gems 'I'll be there' was on that label too (1st press)
