  1. True! Kev did you get that parcel yesterday?
  2. I wasn't going then Simon so I can't answer but I spent the last year of my Wigan attendance just verballing and never dancing anyway so it wouldn't have made any odds...
  3. It's like with a lot of these records - the difference between hearing them on a pc or record player is massive compared to hearing them at boneshaking volume at an allnighter
  4. Maybe try downloading it instead of playing it, that might work - right click, save as...just checked it again and it does seem to be working ok
  5. This is the earliest surviving tape that I recorded myself, there's not a lot of flow to it but it's a good representation of the big sounds of the day. Listen to the sound of feet on the floor during the French Fries! https://happybeaver.mypodcast.com/2007/07/o...1976-29785.html if this doesn't work click here https://www.raresoul.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=11
  6. Yes loads but that was all I had chance to do last night sorry - all sorts of converting I have to do so it takes a while to get it recorded, prepared and published. I'll do the second half of that night though.
  7. As requested, I've dug some more Wigan tapes out and will post a few up in the next day or two, this first one is a Richard Searling spot from 79, only about 35 minutes but there's some excellent tracks and you can see the quality starting to come back after what was in retrospect a very dodgy 1978 as far as quality new discoveries went. I've had to register on my podcast.com incognito as they banned me last time so please ignore the fluffy pink background https://happybeaver.mypodcast.com/200707_archive.html click on the play button use this link below if you see only one or no podcasts! https://www.raresoul.co.uk/wordpress/?page_id=11
  8. Great memories for me too - mainly youth club but I can still see the girls from Wton stomping to this at one of the Wigan oldies allnighters in early 77. It might not have any soul content but nobody can say it's not Northern Soul.
  9. I'll see if I can get something put up later tonight
  10. Yeah he's right, I forgot there was a yellow original as well! Must be rarer than the orange.
  11. There's two yellow ones, a Trans American and one that just says Trans, someone was saying that these Trans ones are official reissues, at the end of the day - who cares, neither yellow ones are originals so they are still bootlegs or reissues!
  12. Sorry - made me laugh - some people really cannot spell https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Barbara-Lynn-SECOND-...1QQcmdZViewItem
  13. Nice tache dude
  14. On CBS? I'll see what I can do. I remember the Chanter Sisters..they were good in the 70's
  15. You shouldn't have such big fingers and thumbs
  16. Very well said. Though JJ Barnes Please Let Me In is better than most records, let alone Gene Toones - imagine if it was a one off!
  17. Wish I'd known you'd got that Erroll Dunkley...SH&T!
  18. That guy is a complete genius
  19. Thats what the forum is for, to help people by sharing information, not to withhold it, put it in a book and sell it to people, surely.
  20. Dunno about a bargain, I'd have gone £20 maybe, great record though
  21. Hi Una If you can make a cd of the tape I can easily guide you through the process of getting it onto the net, it's a bit boring though!
  22. Meanwhile people can always ask of the 2000 other members on the offchance that they might know something about this subject
  23. Bearsy, sorry my friend, you're wrong, the issue is ten times harder than the demo and only a handful are known
  24. I was told to ask 2000 mate so I did. Not my call unfortunately.
  25. Dammit that explains everything!
