WIGAN CASINO FEB 12TH 1977 I recorded this one from the back of the room on the edge of the dancefloor with the recorder being left on the table, as always. Sound quality is a bit muffled to start but gets better as it goes along, stick with it because this is real prime-time Wigan and also there's some really good 'clapping' records like The Jewels and Al de Lory to enjoy. Record Collectors grading system was and is way too strict and inflexible, which is why people created their own gradings (++ etc). Also the RC grading system is NOT used by 99% of Northern Soul dealers, especially, as you say, the VG grade. VG has come to mean anything less than VG+, so people are grading G records as VG. I did start a grade of my own which was "completely f*cking knackered" but it never caught on.

Also I honestly don't remember seeing the Trans pressings around in the mid 70's plus why would they press it in the early 70's when it didn't reach it's huge popularity til 1974?
