Melvin Davis - Find A Quiet Place - Wheel City
I bought mine off Pep for £20 in 1979 and sold it back to him for £25 about 3 months later! I've not had a copy or seen a copy since. This is a truly rare record but not only that - it's bloody fantastic. It didn't sell though, I think it's because it 'books' at 800 quid. Just have to ask the question - is it likely to get any easier to find and is it ever going to come down in price.

I don't think there's any question that he implied that I was pretending that they were someone else's records so that I could charge higher prices than I usually do, not that it's any of his or anyone else's business how much I charge but to even think I'd attempt something like that is just fcuking laughable and besides - I'm trying to SELL them, not NOT sell them!

Adam it does say that they are not my records on all of those big pieces, excuse me if I forgot to put it on this one as well. I have no problem discussing record prices or people saying I'm too expensive or too cheap. I do not like being called a liar though. Do you? * and I did put it on larry wright because I thought people would have got the message already from the four other records selling for a mate who isn't interested in trades/offers, sorry 01902 893569 pete.smith@freeuk.com

Think I'm going to have to go away for a couple of hours as I can't remember the last time I was this angry on soul source. The person selling these records wants to remain anonymous. Is that so difficult to understand? And to think I'm likely to have these records in my collection - oh sure, next week I'll be pulling out the magnetics and don gardner. And how do you know what 'correct' prices are Dylan, you seem pretty clueless about everything else. When did you last see a melvin davis for sale - me personally, it was nearly 30 years ago. I suppose you see them regularly. But hey, thanks for trying to sabotage my thread, I'm just trying to make a living from selling records, if that offends you I apologise.

Dylan - how dare you accuse me of passing someone elses records off as my own. Have you ever seen one of my lists and how competative the prices are? Well you f*cking should do you shit-stirrer.

In this instance I would have to agree with you, 30/40 quid, however when selling on commission I'm just given the info and aksed to print it.

Frank Howard - Judy - Excello Mint Minus
LOL, I used to wear a beret, in about 86 I had what could be called 'big' hair, you know, spikey, and I used to wear this beret and have long bits of hair coming out of it, I looked a right c*nt

Billy Woods
Pep and Ian Levine also had copies. I reckon if we add up all the copies mentioned in this thread there must be 20 definites and about the same again being speculated on. If the one that turned up on ebay last week was a freak find (the guy had it for years and didn't know he'd got it) there have got to be more copies like that waiting to turn up, but you could wait 30 years for that to happen.

Northern Soul Scene Is A Racist Hotbed
Well of course it is. People do not hold the same opinions as each other, and they shouldn't either, that's brainwashing when you haven't got your own opinion. Or have we all got to love everyone and hug a tree?
-
Northern Soul Scene Is A Racist Hotbed
He obviously went in with that attitide, you could tell. How many times do we have to discuss this. About 15% of the lads on our coach were black, they had as much respect as anyone else, some of them had a lot more being "faces" - you wanted to be their mates
-
Northern Soul Scene Is A Racist Hotbed
Thats got nothing to do with the northern soul scene Ged, give us some examples of asians being racially abused on the soul scene if you're going to bring the subject up
-
Northern Soul Scene Is A Racist Hotbed
Surely this has all been done 2 months ago when the program was first screened and culminated with loads of people from SS complaining to the BBC
