  1. It ceased to be a way of life for me back in 1978 when I met a girl off the scene and we both decided there and then that we had better things to do than to go to Wigan every week. After that it was just something I loved but never with the same intensity as when I was 14 to 18.
  2. I'm not just saying this for effect but I've been saying it ever since I joined this forum. This is the worst record ever played or ever made. It's worse than Tim Tam. It's worse than Bryan Hyland. It's worse than Micky Mouse Concerto. Records like this ruined Northern Soul and still continue to.
  3. You say 'we' - I saw the Venicia Wilson pack the floor at the Blackpool weekender and at the Ritz allnighter that boxing day - nobody questioned it, unless a couple of thousand people were brainwashed, and whatever you say or think - the Venicia Wilson record is as good a new discovery as anything played in the last decade, the way he chopped up an old record and made it into something totally different was genius. It's a fantastic record. Never liked the Four Vandals mind.
  4. Not the boot - original white demo - MIKE PEDECIN - BURNT TOAST BLACK COFFEE - FEDERAL DEMO. Mint. £400 ring 07980 693632 (ask for Glen)
  5. Buster Pearson is a very strange cover up name to choose, he was a UK based soul/reggae artist and later better known as the father of the members of Five Star...maybe it actually is him
  6. and I thought it was I Was Smart, I Really Am Quick!
  7. Gord I joined it last time you recommended it but within 10 minutes I'd received about half a dozen emails from people connected with it and I thought it was f*cking weird so I unsubbed straight away!
  8. jimmy bo horne - i just can't speak - dade mint minus 1750--------- Due to the person who reserved this not completing the transaction, this record is now available for sale again, cheers. No offers please!
  9. 20p from your local boot sale, £3 from any second hand shop, great record but a top 10 hit so no value money-wise
  10. Paul I was just pointing out why I personally didn't buy all of them that's all. Not saying they are bad records, but thats why I don't have the set of all releases...because I don't like the music!
  11. maybe they are in dollars???
  12. I'm afraid the people who host my website have told me to take down all of the podcasts - apparently because of the bandwith usage, not the content, they say too many people used them and I used up 5 times more bandwith than I was alloted. So all the Wigan recordings will have to come down, I've already removed most everything else. If anyone wants to host these on their own websites, please feel free, or if you want me to record anything for you to put on your website let me know.
  13. Phil - good to see you back mate.
  14. I would have bought the Grapevine releases if they were of a type of music that I liked but 70% of them were crossover and modern, I bought all the 'northern' ones...how many copies can they expect to sell of something like "Sex" compared to The Magnetics? Bad bad choices I thought...and thats why there's millions of copies around now.
  15. Don't use turbo lister Adam, it developed a glitch which meant that about 2 hours worth of typing was wasted and they couldn't solve it on their forum etc! Can't even remember what it was now but even reverting to the old version didn't work.

  17. It's a baby's cot mattress...the postage would be more than they could buy a brand new one for! Why would someone in australia buy a cot mattress from england, that just doesn't make sense
  18. boot by the looks of it...looks like vinyl
  19. Who knows in this current climate? Depends how quick you need the money. If you need it quick, sell as a job lot, if you can wait, sell individually. Do a list, somethings will fly out, others will be there this time next year. There's no hard and fast rules anymore. One thing though, do not rely on soul source for sales!
  20. you advertise something for sale and state it's for Uk only then some cnut from Australia bids on it and wins it? We don't want to sell it to anyone outside the UK because the item is so heavy...do we have to go through with this sale, and what happens if they leave us negative? Anyone know?
  21. Yeah it did, but it had to because the seller was not going to drop it...thanks all
  22. Sold, thank you for the interest
  23. Didn't know there was a repro on Hondo, I know there was a german bootleg a year or two ago
  24. Probably "Right On" by Al De Lory...definitely a piano!
