Tymes - Here She Comes (a Question)
The 1962 date, you mean the one printed on the label? Doesn't mean anything apart from the fact they copyrighted the label in that year. Apart from that - don't ask me!

Workin / Memories
Yes it was, on Out Of The Past, plain white label...

But it wasn't a joke! I had that record in about 1975 and don't think I even heard the vocal until it came out on a compilation album in 1985. It was never played, ever. And I still wouldn't piss on it if it was on fire. Well I would, but only the instrumental side, I'd probably throw a damp cloth over it.

Levine's New Album
That Barbara Pennington record - 24 hours a day - just how great is that record...it's SUPER GREAT! Stands up against any other new releases of the time (1976) and still sounds brilliant. Come to think of it - Running In Another Direction is also great (but not as great as 24..)

Funny this - Exus Trek is one my all time favourite records - but the vocal side, in my opinion, is somewhere between poor and average...

Which Record Came Out Most Times
Hey, disqualified for using a UK label when it said 'no UK labels'!

Levine's New Album
There was also a group called The Young Vandals. And, by coincidence quite recently, one called the Horrible Little Hoodie-Wearing C*nts

Which Record Came Out Most Times
Not including UK labels... Was thinking of Earl Harrison - Humphrey Stomp - came out on ABS, Garrison and Wand.

Tymes - Here She Comes (a Question)
John Manship had another version which played a completely different track!

Levine's New Album
Theres no relies about it, it IS Peter Hamilton re-arranged - but that's a really great instrumental to begin with. The composer credits on Venicia Wilson are Howard Boggess-Fred Bauer. A&R is credited to Joe Cook (the real Top Top was his label)

Larry Houston Aka Top Cat
"Nothing you can do" on HIM label...very primitive and probably done in retaliation for the Stones nicking It's All Over Now as it starts off with the Satisfaction riff...

Now why would you suggest that I like Romance Watson? That's just silly. Why not... ROSCOE SHELTON SAM DEES GWEN DAVIS SEQUINS TOPICS BOBBY WOMACK JACKIE BEAVERS BUNNY SIGLER CREATIONS EMPIRES CHUCK CARTER INVERTS GEORGE JACKSON TEMPTATIONS etc etc you could go on all day

That's a good question actually. In the 80's I only went to local things apart from the odd visit to Keele and the 100 Club so I liked people like Ian Clark at the 100, Ted Massey at the Old Vic. I never went to Stafford - not in it's allnighter incarnation anyway, I only went there to alldayers - so I never heard keb and Guy etc but I've certainly heard their records and I loved their attitude, throw away the oldies, go forward with 60's newies. My personal favourite Wigan dj's were Richard, John Vincent and Alan Rhodes, though JV went too soon and AR changed direction..

Bob And Earl - Harlem Shuffle
My little lad likes playing records (well putting them on), I let him have a pile of old knackered ones to mess about with, he put on Harlem Shuffle by Bob & Earl on the Trip label (bootleg?) and it sounded different to both the original and the Mirwood one - it did sound similar to the Mirwood one but a different version. I'm probably imagining it

Searling is a great man, no doubt about it, and he was a long time hero of mine (still is), but because he changes direction in his music it doesn't follow that I have to go with him -

Larry Houston Aka Top Cat
Well good riddance, he'd done his bit, he was one of the best 3 ever but obviously when it's time to move on, he made the right decision.
