  1. For a start, CP is a Pye label and they were massive and had huge distribution, so they are certainly going to make a lot of demos. Philips issued no demos at all during the mid 60's, just stickered ones, after that they put out as many as others in the polygram group (polydor/philips/mercury/fontana) but their distribution was obviously very poor at the time. Chubby Checker was selling records in 1961 but by 1965 nobody knew who he was, the Beatles had obliterated him and all of the other US imports and even Elvis was barely selling a record in 1965 so I bet if they had the figures that it would have sold less than 50 copies, seriously.
  2. Wow you never told me about that! Send us one Chris and I'll send you something you definitely won't have
  3. I really regret never seeing it and I only heard good things about it so I'm not slagging off the play for a minute, just the fact that Paul's not impressed by people recycling the Wigan legend and the whole nostalgia trip
  4. Vice versa what you said. It's common sense that the demos going to be way easier than the issue. How many demos made? Maybe 300? How many issues sold? About 5!
  5. It's pointless asking. If someone says X someone else will say Y and then a third will say it's neither of those because it was actioned for 3 times the amount of the first one. Best advcice, see what it says in the price guide then divide by two.
  6. Can you just remind us about the stage play you were involved in, forget what it was called now...
  7. Well said that man
  8. How much are we talking about.? When I say meet I mean "see him perform". So £5?
  9. If by new and contemporary soul you mean music recorded outside of the 60's, no, not too keen really
  10. Although a RW or JV autograph is not top of my agenda by any means, I would actually pay money to meet Dean Parrish as would a lot of others by the sound of it. Not that I'm going to like, but I would in principal.
  11. I posted absolutely everything I had up to You Tube so that everyone could see it but you're not saying anything about posting any of your stuff up, just listing it...so unless we all come round to your house, how are we ever going to see it? If this stuff were available anywhere for sale I'd buy the lot and post it up, but unless anyone knows otherwise, it's not..
  12. Whoever did the vocal on Love You Baby has a better voice than Lorraine Chandler....Simon S is probably still around, I'll tell you why, when Ian Levine was running his ANS forum, I made some comment about SS abd something he was meant to have done, and he actually emailed me personally to deny it!
  13. What, the way he looks now makes it a bad record?
  14. The UK one misses the first note - not sure what instrument it is - but apart from that I think it's the same (I may be wrong)
  15. Of course but in this case it;'s easy to understand why it sold for that price
  16. You'll not have heard it then!
  17. Was that the really good lookalike one though with the greenish label? I've never seen that come up for sale before and it looks just like the original (unless examined close up) so in this instance I can understand the price, but I don't think anyone should be paying more than £20 bfor the dark blue Salvadors pressing, however great a record it is
  18. Don't know but I do know I subscribed and don't think I saw anything other than issue 1
  19. I've never heard one with a hiss and I've had loads of them. Wouldn't pay more than £10 or ask more than £15 for it though.
  20. Just be realistic with the prices - I just sold 100 of them for 200 quid - who buys Dave Mitchell, Mark Johnson, Rain etc etc for more than a fiver?
  21. You have to read the reply properly, he said Johnny Caswell was covered up as Moses Smith before it's real identity was discovered.
  22. There's an unreleased Len Barry version of You Don't Love Me Anymore. Kev Roberts told me after speaking to John Madara.
  23. As low as £20 for the blue text one sometimes.
  24. Yeah if you think you can find an overpriced record on my sales list today, you go for it...
